Lmao @ the article For the story, I had a small conversation with a guy from the US. So, when I introduced my self, I told him I come from France (I didn't say I was French because it's sometimes confusing for Canadians who have a French-speaking Province). The guy asked me seriously: Quote: France ? In which state is that? Now I don't want to be cruel but the guy was less educated than a georgian chicken... Not knowing that France is a f***ing country should be a crime sanctioned by international law !!!  So, after reading that small story, you wouldn't be surprise that a lot of young Americans don't know where Iraq is... But don't get me wrong: I bet that there is a huge amount of ppl in France too that don't know such things. im kinda like ash, average, but one of the smartest in my class... I know that I could answer about all those questions, except the survivor ones because i never pay attention to the locations. _______________ if at first you dont succeed, try and try again. if you still dont succeed, youve just wasted a whole lot of time trying something you just cant do

I think it's scary, that I could pinpoint New York, Florida, New Jersey, etc, on a map, and I'm Danish... the only states which might take a bit locating are the less known/mid-west states. |

hahahaha man, this reminds me of my 9th grade class. i went to a pretty trashy highschool, so since i was of average intelligence, i was considered the smartest kid in class. well anyway, one day our history teacher asked the question "what is the one continent that is made up of only one country?" oh boy the amount of responses i heard. most of the kids were shouting up and down that it was antartica but a few other "gifted" folks were saying things like canada. well in a fit of giving up my teacher turned to me and asked for my answer. i was about to pass out due to how incredibly boring that class was but in a sleepy haze i was able to yell out "australia". everyone was like "ooohh. gee your so smart. how did you know the answer? you must study alot" yeah...that was some good times...its fun being a god among ants. _______________ "We keep odd hours...." ----------------------- They Live, We Sleep |

It's sad. American schools might make good math-people, but some of the most basic stuff is neglected. Hell, I haven't learned a single country's position in school, that stuff is basic knowledge. |

our school system is extremely out dated, and doesnt try to focues on what the individual student is good at, they just force down math, english, science, and history.....i hated it, but still did well and now learing what i want _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. Geography definitely isn't our strong suit in this country. Of course my hometown never gets surveyed and I know that most people from there know this stuff.
