I made my name like this.. A medieval RPG, Lianiotte is like a Lion. Go with Lian. Lian by itself looks naked, so I added iotte. I don't normally make names thinking of words that already exist (like Lian or Lemon or Nuclear Bomb.) I normally make FULL names like how I made iotte. i got mine from a book i was reading at some point, the seven blessings, then i took up skinning and i realised that ppl might think that there were 7 ppl actually skinning so i changed it to the similar 7th blessing. i cant remember teh book. My name is the result of an oddly random conversation. Somebody once pointed out to me that, if I swapped the 1st letter of my surname with the 1st letter of my forename, my surname would be 'Garris'. I countered by pointing out that if I left the 'H' in and just put the 'G' in front it would sound just the same. Then, when I first got on t'internet I remembered the conversation while registering for a forum. Although these days I prefer for my name to be pronounced G-Harris. Hope that cured all you insomnaics out there  Oh, I also use a different name for flightsim fora/online games: Fox_4. I started out as Rburtrand(first letter of my first name, added to my surname), I'd used it in the past but it didn't really work here. There didn't appear to be any consensus as to what it should be shortened to(and I don't think I helped when I was asked about what it should be shortened to). So I decided to adopt a new name. I'd been playing as the class of Jedi Guardian in KotOR(KotOR Rules !!!), so I adopted the Guardian from that but couldn't think what to put in front of it. Then I remembered that few guys at the academy had pointed out that I didn't talk very much so I adopted Quiet. This is a name I created for myself about six years ago, when X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter had reached its peak in popularity, shortly after the Balance of Power expansion came out. I applied my online experiences as well as offline (through the original X-Wing and TIE Fighter games) as well as my experiences with Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, and now, Jedi Academy, to create an actual "character" of sorts. His full name is Themrit Siduro. Edit: In real life, I'm usually referred to as "Satan." It came from a time when my friends and I were trying to make a fire at the beach with one of those logs you buy. It was windy, so we weren't having much luck. mine goes back to when i just got out of college and started doing freelance design work. i used the name Promethean Design Group. promethean (means boldly creative or defiantly unique) is an adjective taken from (in greek mythology) the titan prometheus (stole fire from the gods to give light to the people of the world, as punishment for doing so the gods chained him to a rock and an eagle eats his liver for all eternity). so i took on the nick prometheus when i stated playing half-life way back when. over time it has evolved from prometheus, to prome, to prom, to prom3th3us, to 3th3us, to 3th. i also am kinda fond of the reference to say 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, and 3th being some odd non-place. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |
