mine goes back to when i just got out of college and started doing freelance design work. i used the name Promethean Design Group. promethean (means boldly creative or defiantly unique) is an adjective taken from (in greek mythology) the titan prometheus (stole fire from the gods to give light to the people of the world, as punishment for doing so the gods chained him to a rock and an eagle eats his liver for all eternity). so i took on the nick prometheus when i stated playing half-life way back when. over time it has evolved from prometheus, to prome, to prom, to prom3th3us, to 3th3us, to 3th. i also am kinda fond of the reference to say 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, and 3th being some odd non-place. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

hehe this is a cool one, Monty is a Trials bike made in Spain, Monty are the leading company in making them and are world champions since 1993 i think. Star Wars comic #7 from Darkhorse features the Cerean Ki-Adi-Mundi traveling to Tatooine to locate a legendary Jedi long thought dead, Sharad Hett. Sharad in the meantime kept busy over his years away from the Order by having a son, A'Sharad, and training him as a Master would a Padawan. Sharad had proven himself to the Tusken through valor and fortitude and had since taken to their culture, raising his son as a Tusken from birth - hence the naming convention. Looking beyond the peculiar dress the character of A'Sharad is marvelously written and much of an enigma. One of my favorites, he intrigued me and so who better to take the name of than one that captures your attention and does not release? For further reading: The latest in the Republic line of comics from Darkhorse, #58 , also features a bit about A'Sharad during the height of the Clone Wars. I've always been horrible at making up nicks. So when I joined here... can't remember exactly what I used, but it sucked. Either that or I started off with Narsil. Wish my memory was better Anyways, at the time, I must have been reading Lord of the Rings, and I don't know how I came up with Narsil as a name, but somehow I chose it, and started using it. I haven't looked back since. Now.. It's second nature. Long ago... in a land oppressed by a tyrannical regime... one man stood to defeat his enemies by all means necessary... This was back in the days of AOL 3.0 (OMFG :eek Anyways, I can't remember my first screen name.. I think it was Lord Fort. This was because I had just seen Empire Strikes Back, and then all 3 starwars movies in order on USA (tv station). Lord Vader was of course my favorite and Fort (Forte) is my last name. Then, after a few months I grew bored of the normal AOL use and by this time AOL 4.0 was around. I started downloading progz (I was such a script kiddy) and one of the later ones I got was "Fate 2.5". After a while when AOL 5.0 was around I got "Fate Zero". Finally I changed my screen name to Lord Fate. I later lost that screen name and still can't get it back (  ) 4 years later I was a sophmore in highschool and I attended my first lan party. I got a copy of Q3A and needed a name. I chose Fate even though I didn't remember my old SN at the time nor the program that inspired it. A year ago I got a new computer and I decided that it would be the last of the Fate. When I get my next computer in a year or two I'll retire this name and take up a new one. _______________ I must not fear . Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear . I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
