Hello all! First of all I want to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope you all didn't have too much fun. :P

Ok well as alot of you have noticed, I have been kinda missing in action lately. I want to apologize to everyone here, especially my padawans for this. Reasons for my absence are ones i was not sure i want to discuss but decided that my JA family deserves to know about.

First problem and the most important thing that is occupying my time is that my bfs mom (Koyi Donitas mom) has been in the hospital since Christmas eve. She has ALOT of problems and the doctors there are still running tests to find out whats causing her to be in the shape that shes in. The only thing we know is that she had kidney failure but there is something alot more wrong then that. All we can do is wait to see what happens. I ask that you all please keep Koyi in your thoughts for our holidays have been long and sad.

Another thing occupying my time is my job. OMG its insane there! We have alot of big movies so ive been pulling alot of overtime there. Return of the King is pwning all! :D

Third and last reason for my MIA is that i got koyi Final Fantasy 11 for christmas and we share one pc. This totally limits my time here right now and with everything going on, i let koyi have first choice with the pc.

Well thats pretty much it. Im really sorry for my absence but im still here. I check in almost everyday but i dont have the time to teach, chat, or train at the moment. My life is work, hospital, work, hospital, work, etc. Sleep is pretty much non-existant. Thanks for all the support and again.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Hey,

First of all, sorry for the late response, if I had seen seen this post sooner I would have responded sooner.

Well, whats there to say during these dark days. Only knowledge I have about things that happen to the brain is that the human brain heals very slowly. My own grandmother had a CVA (kinda like a heartattack but then in the brain) little over a year from now and the doctor said that recovery of it could take up to two years. So I guess I can't do much more than offer my support and giving my faith to you both. Faith, that word has gotten maybe a new meaning for me now. I ain't exactly a religious person, in fact the last time I prayed is several years ago. I kinda lost faith in God when my grandmother died after a robbery. But out of respect and honor for our friendship, I'll be praying to Him again, asking for a full and speedy recovery. Cause I guess if He is out there and the more ppl pray to him for the same thing, the less change we have that He denies it. And if its true that this situation will have brought Koyi and his mother closer together then these dark days will have had a meaning after her full recovery.

I wish you both the strength you need during these difficult times and I'll be praying

Bart,

thanks vierna! Her kidneys have improved. Its the viral brain infection that worries us. She may never be the same again because the doc said she will most likely have brain damage from this. We just have to wait and see. And yes btw she is diabetic. Thanks again all for your continuing support. :D

hmmm.. well i'm familiar with the problem koyi's mother has.... my father also had kidney failure, and opted to do dialysis every other day rather than a kidney transplant, he lived many years after that. Is she diabetic? that's what led to my fathers kidney failure..... Just a word of advice tho...when she bounces back... try to stress the importance of a correct diet, it will make all the difference in the world as to longevity and well being.

Even if im no spiritual man, i will take your mum into my thought if it would help you. in fact, i dont beleave it would help, but i think that the faith is enough of changing something. So, have the peace in your heart to take that situation and dont be angry about it. I dont beleave, that god made this world consciously, i dont even know if he exists. But the faith of him can move mountains, so i hope you and your mother are strong enough to get through it. :) i hope i found the right words to descripe how i'm thinking and i hope more than that it would help you.

greetings,
daid

I just want to take this time out to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, informative information, and support. Words can't describe how your words have touched and uplifted me. I'm trying to be very spiritual about this whole thing so the fact that my holidays were kinda crazy with this situation doesn't really bring me down. Granted, I'm not my usually cheery self, but I understand that God has seen His whole creation in it's entirety from beginning to end and all is to His glory. My mother and I have grown apart over the years towards her constant problems that she's placed over and over again on my shoulders limiting me to do what I want to do with my time and money. This holiday season, I've been praying for her and keeping her constantly in my thoughts and that's a beautiful thing. I feel that if she pulls through this, our relationship will be much better and I feel that that wouldn't have been possible without this tragic happening. God made family structure and it is something that I've been very cold towards for a great time now. Hopefully, He set this happening into place to heal this illness of disconnection from my mother. Either way, I'm comfortable with the fact that He knows my pain and my discomfort with this situation. He knows how my mother feels and what she would want. Let all things be to His awesome glory. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I trust you O Lord. You know what is good for all. Please have mercy on us if it is in your good will to do so. Thank you for the many mercies both the ones that are hidden and the ones made manifest unto us all. Thank you for your long suffering dealing with us as we all constantly go astray from you sinning as if it is okay to. As if it was a necessary part of life. Please come into our beings with your Holy Spirit that we may all be born again to do your awesome will. Please love us so that we may come to love you in a way that is pleasing to you.

Amen.

I also thank God that I have each and every one of you here. You guys are awesome. Thank you. :')

First, thanks for sharing your real life with us cyber buddies, it is important to me and as you can see to others as well. I hope you know that our support is here if you ever need it and the door is always open.

Well, I am truly sorry for this to be happening. The best advice I can give is take it day by day and keep praying and support Koyi as best as you can. If Koyi needs another friend to talk to about this I am available. I went through a similiar situation with my mom two years ago, so if he needs some support send him my way. I hope both of you are getting a little rest or as best as you can do. That is very important. My thoughts and hopes are with you. Give his mom a hug from the JA and Koushka :)

The brain, the spinal cord, and its surrounding structures could become infected by a large spectrum of germs. Germs are micro organizms btw. Bacteria and viruses are the things that infect the brain and that you find the most. Parasites, fungi, and others can infect the central nervous system (CNS), but that is much more rare (which is good).

It does the following to the surroundings where the infection is seated: The infecting germ causes an inflammation of the area invaded. Depending on the location of the infection, different names are given to the diseases. (so multiple things are possible)

First there is Meningitis. Meningitis is the inflammation of the meninges (the surrounding 3 layers of membranes of the brain), the spinal cord and the fluid surrounding the spinal cord.

Then you have Encephalitis, Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain itself.

There is also the Abscess, it is an assembly (not the right word but I dont know the english word. It is that all bad stuff goes clutching together and form a big mass of bad stuff) of infectious material and hostile microorganisms within the CNS. Though this is may not seem to be dangerous, it can be when it is discovered late or when it does not go away all by itself and needs to be churgically removed.

Organisms may cause bacterial, viral, parasitic, fungal, or prion infections of the central nervous system. Viral menginitis is the least dangerous one and requires no specific treatment, it goes away without complications of remaining damage to brain/body/nerve system. Bacterial meningitis is a very serious disease and may result in a learning disability, hearing loss, permanent brain damage, and even death :(. Viral infections are 2-3 times more common (so thats good too)

There are much more though but these are the most common different kinds of brain infections. (even though the Bacterial meningitis is very rare and is not often seen anymore) As you can see, its not just 1 thing called brain infection but multiple different possibilities Luckily most of them are not so difficult to cure but there are some infections that can be dangerous. But usually when you notice it quickly it can be cured pretty easy. My just born niece for example suffered from Streptococcus pneumonia which causes pneumococcal meningitis. But we found out very soon something was wrong (within a timespan of 3 weeks) and she was completely cured from the most dangerous meningitis infection. So most of the time its perfectly cureable.

that is brain infection. I hope that explains it a bit. I sure hope she gets well soon.
