Sup,

In reference to the post:

UNIX > DOS and Linux > Windows, right?

What flavor of Unix/Linux are ppl running.

I have a FreeBSD Nat Box, for sharing the house internet connection, and a XP box for gaming.

In hte past I have run RedHat, Suse, and when I was 12 I ran a very early version of Slackware.

I am mainly interested in the flavors ppl are gaming on.

I've used Mandrake, Red Hat, Suse, Slackware and Gentoo. All I have to say is Gentoo > all flavors of Linux. :)

FreeBSD only. :D If I need a workstation I'll use RedHat if I don't care or Gentoo if I feel like doing it right. :)

Sup,

So are you guys paying for your mandrake distros? Or are they also available via ftp, like almost all other *nix operating systems.

I've tried Mandrake, Suse, Debian, Slackware, FreeBSD, Red Hat, Yopper, Morphix, and Knoppix.

And I have to say Mandrake takes the cake for ease of installation. I'm currently using Mandrake 9.1 (don't really like 9.2).

I'm in the process installing Gentoo though, (takes a while if you go for tarball#1 all that compiling. SWEET!) can't wait to see how fast it goes if everything's compiled.:D

Redhat

But since it has stopped being supported, I will either go to Fedora or Debian or Gentoo or Slackware or everything of the above (and install them on a new HD :D :P)

Linux 0wnZ

EDIT: *nix 0wnZ
