Aimbots! | |

Is there such a thing? Every time I Own somebody, he screams "Aimbot!" I've been told that the existence of such things is an urban legend, but Quake-engine Land is filled with True Believers who swear there are such things. I've Googled the topic to death and found many sites claiming that such things exist, but nowhere they can be downloaded. Now if I wanted to know if MySql really exists or not, I'd Google it and within two minutes be downloading it--because it does exist. If I wanted to know if Gimp or OpenOffice really exists, sure enough I'd Google it and be downloading it within two minutes. This is not possible with aimbots. You can find sites that claim it exists, but like Bigfoot the evidence mysteriously disappears when a skeptic asks to see it. Now if such a thing did exist, it would most likely be a Trojan horse, and only a real 'tard would use it. But do they exist at all? I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility, but I have yet to see any credible evidence of it beyond the usual I-got-owned-therefore-everybody-but-me-cheats argument. What do you guys think? _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

LOL!!! Do you have any idea what a .cfg is? Open yours in Wordpad. If you think that can give you a Trojan horse, you know nothing about computers. Could there be a .cfg setting that gives you an aimbot? There's a variable called /g_letmecheatlikeawhore and you just set it to 1? I doubt they'd make it that easy. For another thing, there are lots of web sites describing all the cool cheats/semi-cheats you can do with your .cfg, and not a one mentions making it into an aimbot. I just knew somebody would say "my friend has one." Well my friend's friend's barber has photographs of Bigfoot too. I won't post a link to them because they're Very Secret and I don't want people to know! LOL. Endless repetitions of "they do exist" do not impress me. There are technical problems with such a thing that I'm not sure can be solved at all. There's also the little matter of no one being able to give some source code. There are even virus-related web sites that tell you (for educational purposes only!) how to write a virus. With all the heavy-duty technical analysis of the QE3 on the web, surely there would be some source code explaining aimbots...if they exist. I'm becoming more and more convinced that they don't exist, but I'll entertain more "My friend has one" stories while I await some actual evidence. I see "Lots of people use them" got a vote. Again: How is it that "lots" of people use them if nobody can find one? LOL!!! _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. I think I know where to find a wallhack. I haven't downloaded the thing, because I don't want to cheat, or catch a trojan if that's the case, but I can say it's in a .cfg, and even his own clanmates say he has wallhack. I won't post link to it right now, not very keen on having a dozen more guys with wallhack if it works, but if interested, contact me. |

Uhhhh why do you want to know where to find one. They do exist. They are kept secret so not everyone uses it. I personally hate the idea of it. There aimbots for other Q3 engine games and it and it would not be too hard to convert. |

Love to see them! A wallhack isn't an aimbot, btw, but very interested in that one too. Post them! I'd love to disassemble the executable (I won't be running it since I don't care for Trojan horses). I'd really like to see if there's an aimbot for ET or Call of Duty. No friend-of-a-friend stories--I want a smoking gun. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

ok 2 things 1: i test out computers for my dad who works for IBM, so every 4 months or so i get a new computer 2: it was over a year ago bro, if i still had my comp from 2002, i would've deleted it yonks ago also, i have kept the aimbots and wallhacks from counterstrike if your interestd. _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |

So Cuzza, have you also seen photographs of Bigfoot that you now can't show us? If you actually have one, then give it to us! I'm ready to believe...if it's real. If you can't produce the evidence, then I think you've been duped and just don't want to admit it. [edit/addendum:] "and if you want to see if there really there, go to google and type 'counterstrike aimbots' without quotes" I searched Google for Counterstrike aimbots and found plenty of sites that promised them but were just link to porn sites. Google returned plenty of hits, but not one actually had an aimbot download when I went to the link. If you really could get an aimbot, you'd give me a URL. Your haven't. Instead you tell me to search Google myself, which means you've never really found one. [edit/second addendum]: A good many of the Google hits were 'bots for AOL Instant Messenger, hence "AIMbots." LOL. Not the same thing. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. This comment was edited by JavaGuy on Jan 17 2004 05:15pm. |

it was december 2002 when i got it. i went onto google and searched for jedi Outcast aimbots. I saw a good website and i downloaded the most downloaded aimbot. it wasn't all good, but it was good enough to kill a bunch of newbies 'nuff said edit: 2002 i have tried aimbots for cs crazy, they are pretty good, i dont use them though. your id, ip and computer can get banned by Sierra so... _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world This comment was edited by CuZzA on Jan 17 2004 04:09pm. |

Well Cuzza if you've used one before, why don't you tell us what game you used it for and where you got it from. And if by some miracle you created it yourself you should be able to show us how you did it. There has to be a way you got it for you to have used it. Aron as for people being able to block kicks in JK2. I was never much for kick duels but everytime I fought a normal duel with someone who liked to kick I was rarely knocked down. I didn't have any program keeping me up or even knew how I did it but I just didn't fall down. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. "Believe me, they are real." Statements like that are still the only "evidence" I've seen. Again, it's Bigfoot. Show me some source code! I have yet to see one single person post a URL. Every microscopic detail about programming these games has been disected on a web site somewhere, from how BSPs are rendered to how the individual network packets are structured. If there's anything that even remotely resembles an aimbot, then the source code definitely exists and can be shown. But like those poloroids of Bigfoot I can only get "believe me" assurances that it exists somewhere. I'm with Ulic. I love conspiracy theories! "I'm a big-time America's Army player, and before Punkbuster was included, it was swarming with aimbots." Statements like that just prove that people who believe in aimbots have absolutely no idea how computers work. Sorry dude, but if there is such a thing as an aimbot, Punkbuster cannot magically detect it from the server end. Computers aren't magical even if they seem magical--they obey the laws of physics, and information actually has to be sent across the network for the server to "know" what's happening on your computer. If you've got a program running locally that automatically aims your rifle, the server knows nothing about it. How exactly do you think you "knew" that everyone was using aimbots? "I'm a full-time Mountain Pass sniper, and when im on a mountain, covered under trees, there is no way an M16 would be able to see me." Well I'm a big-time Enemy Territory player, and because I know all the maps I know where all the good sniper perches are. So I don't really have to see a sniper to know where he is. Then when I blow him away he screams "Aimbot!" I can't speak to the game you're playing, but I'm skeptical of I-can't-believe-I-got-owned-that-way arguments. Like the ET guide says: Don't assume something is a hack--when you're more experienced you'll do all kinds of things you don't think are possible now. I'm pretty damn good, and I still learn new things every day. In real life it would be hard to believe that someone could keep headshotting people with a pistol. In Quake Engine-based games it's just practice. And no, being good at countering kicks has nothing to do with an aimbot. It might be a kick script, which is a no-no on the Academy servers, but then again it might not be. I was quite the kick-whore in the JK2 days, and I never used a script. Another thing that makes me skeptical: If there is such a thing as an aimbot, it's quite a sophisticated piece of software and has to be rewritten for every new game. Yet when a new game comes out everbody instantly starts accusing everybody else of using aimbots! Last night I was playing Call of Duty, which just came out for God's sake, and people were saying that "everybody" (except them!) uses aimbots. I Googled it to death and found no COD aimbot anywhere. That's another conundrum aimbots: The conspiracy theorists simultaneously claim that lots of people use aimbots, meaning that they are easy to find and download, but at the same time they can't provide evidence that aimbots exist because they are so hard to find that even Google can't locate them! Again, I'm not convinced that such a thing is impossible, but it might be impossible. Most of the "hacks" people accused each other of using in StarCraft were, in fact, impossible (the synchronous protocol completely ruled out that you could give yourself more resources, build Hydras faster or do any of the other things that people accused more efficient builders of doing). I don't know quite enough about how the QE works to say if it's impossible like that or not. But if aimbots are possible and have been created: Show me some source code. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

I wouldn't think there's any aimbots in Jk2 or Jk3 but I've certainly seen some strange situations outside the academy servers. You can identify a aimbot for example in cs (the rifle auto-aim) by spectating and looking at the player using this bot in first person. His gun went first completetly right in a straight line then suddenly up in a exact 90 degree turn. Landing on a fair playing player's head, resulting in a headshot. No real player aims that way. _______________ 362 Ohi on! This comment was edited by Steinin on Jan 17 2004 11:52am. |

In jk2, i'm not sure, although i believe so. I remember having kick duels with people, who would block EVERY kick i made. Dont ask me how, but they did. I'm a big-time America's Army player, and before Punkbuster was included, it was swarming with aimbots. Aimbots which removed fog, draw an indicator above an enemy, or just auto-aim your rifle. I'm a full-time Mountain Pass sniper, and when im on the mountain, covered under trees, there is no way an M16 would be able to see me. And even IF they would see me, it is kind of weird that a certain person keeps shooting you in the head from over 800 yards... Sure, i think they are there, although i have never searched for one, or used one. |

Okay, those who say they're real, how 'bout a link to some source code? If a program is real, then it has source code. This one reminds me a lot of bigfoot--lots of people claim to have seen him, but when asked for evidence we're told that a friend of a friend of a friend has a photograph...but his dog ate it.
