Okay now it's time to add a post. Go here http://www.againsttcpa.com and read one of the scariest things (At least for me) which will soon dominate our PC's.

The informational self-determination isn't existing anymore, it's not possible to save, copy, create, program, ..., the data like you want. This applies for privates as for companies

The free access to the IT/Software market is completely prevented for anyone except the big companies, the market as we know it today will get completely destroyed

Restrictions in the usage of owned hardware would apply

The liberty of opinion and the free speech on the internet would finally be eliminated

The own rights while using IT-technologies are history.

The national self-determination of the der particular countries would be fully in the hands of the USA

Probably the world would break into two digital parts (Countries that express against TCPA)

Okay this will work for how long? 2 Years? Then you can't buy any new game, install any new software. U as a privat men can say no i don't want the new Windows (Longhorn is the first with activated TCPA), but what about all the companies? They can't say we won't upgrade. And if they're really dumb they would even encourage it, because they will think it will make espionage impossible.
The problem with this is the insufficent knowledge. I mean if my dad sees a cheap PC and it does what he want's = some minor games, he will buy it cuz he doesn't care. An thats why everyone needs to be informed.

Well, if they push something like that through, I think it will be shooting themselves in the foot. Prices will skyrocket and sales will drop right off becuase nobody that can afford the shit will want it.

Hmm i bet everything they will get it through, since every major lagel, holywood, CIA, FBI, any state which wants to control it's ppl- points at China will support it. Even now, many motherboards have the tcpa chip already installed but not activated.
The main argument will be that your computer will be safe from harm, and do you trust your politicans to see behind those words? I for won't trust them as far as i can throw em.

I doubt they will pass it. There are too many things that would be taken away from consumers. They just don't wanna accept the idea that they have to take mp3 trading and such as the cost of doing business.

If they would stop raping people with the cost of their product, then piracy would lessen. In the case of software, they need to raise the price and the quality. It's that simple, but no, they don't wanna do that.
