I work PT at a local wholesale club in the food court. One of my pet peeves, is when a customer or another employee comes to my register blabbing away on their cell phone. What the heck is so damn important that their stupid call can't wait another 10 seconds? Well, I'm sick of it and now, when they come to my register I say, "Let me know when you're finished with your call." and I walk away. SCREW 'EM!!! And don't get me started on the dumbasses who drive with their stupid phones!!! Don't get me wrong, cell phones are very handy and great in emergencies. you go billy! ppl need to learn manners. i often am on my phone when doing stuff in public. but when i have to interact with another human, i tell the person on the phone to wait a second so i can give the human, rather than a phone, my full attention. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

Is there a way to block a cell phone signal inside of a building? That would put that rudeness to an end right quick!!! I was at work the other day and a woman came up to the counter just blabbing away. I looked her right in the eyes and said, "Let me know when you're finished with your call." I just turned around and finished what I was doing. Like a minute later, she very "snottily" (is that a word?) said "HELLO!!!" I then said once more, "I'll help you when you're finished with your call" with a smile on my face. When she was done, I just rang her up and acted all friendly-like but I could tell she was totally POed! i agree ringing phones in lectures and movies are very annoying... but Bubu using a walkie talkie in a mall is so stupid!! would you do it yourself? I used them when I go hiking, but never in the city and especially in crowds... the "beep beep" sound will make everyone look at you! and its just as annoying as a phone can be. _______________ I'm leaving, on a jet plane~ |

I concur, theres nothing worse than sitting in a lecture desperately trying to concentrate on some area you're struggling with when some ******* phone goes off it really makes me mad, ah well, that was a fairly short rant for me, you should count yourselves lucky _______________ Support bacteria, they're the only culture some people have. |

yeah man i hate cell phones. if you need something for emergencies (or to find your mother in the shopping mall) get a walkie talkie or something. my friends made me buy a cell phone and now they call me a jerk for leaving it off. i'll be getting rid of it soon i think. _______________ make install -not war |

I don't dispute that cell phones are handy, I'm just saying that a lot of people who use them are completely rude and impolite! Here in NY State, there's a law banning talking on the phone and driving, but it doesn't really get enforced. It is legal to use a hands-free, but for most people, that doesn't improve their driving. If you're driving, you should be concentrating on driving ONLY!!! I completely agree. There are laws in TX now against driving while using a handset cell phone (I think). And thank god too. I had a cell phone for a while and gave it up after I got laid off. Best decision I ever made. No worrying about minutes this or that. No people ever getting in touch with me whenever they wanted and no more thinkimg I'm a prick for leaving my phone off. I rarely checked my voicemail too. It was all one big hasle. Who needs it? Sure they're fine in emergencies. But otherwise they're completely useless (except at work. We use Nextel's and the walkie talkie feature there is quite handy). _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |
