w00t came from the old days, when a hacker got administrator rights on a machine (got root), he/she would exclaim "woot!" then, it was adopted by 1337 gamers and transformed into w00t and simply meant "woohoo". hackers never used it since. as for "all your base are belong to us": yes it came from an old japanese video game. zero wing. here, this flash video shows ya how it went: http://www.planettribes.com/allyourbase/AYB2.swf _______________ make install -not war |

That's really cool. I always thought it was just a cheer or something. Here's some trivia for you: The "peace sign" (like you see hippies wearing) represents a guy making the semaphore signals for the letters "N.D.," for nuclear disarmament. Anybody know where "All your bases are belong to us!" originally came from? _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |
