As everyone pointed out, it comes from owned. What hasn't been said is that most "1337" players typed very fast "own3d" and accidentally hit "p" instead of "o" (spellchecks twice  ). The usage of the "p" quickly spread like wildfire. That's where it comes from Now, another interesting question : Do you pronounce pwn3d like pawned or powned? _______________ "only two things are infinite: Human stupidity and the universe.
