Dark Forces Demo. This is a bit out of date but...
This is what the guys at darkforces.jediknightii.net had to say : Date: Tuesday, November 26 2002 | 16:56 GMT Author: Darth_Linux Subject: Dark Forces MOD Demo is released!! That's right, after 6 long months and the commitment of > 20 volunteers, the remake of "Secret Base", the first level from the Lucas Arts game Dark Forces, has been recreated in all the glory the Jedi Outcast engine allows. Weighing in at just under 30 MB, the demo is available in a single file for broadband users, or three seperate files for modem users. See the "DOWNLOADS" section for the actual links. IMPORTANT! You should create a new directory under "GameData" called "dark" (or anything else if you prefer, but we like DARK) and extract the contents of the zip file(s) to that directory. You can run the mod in two ways - by starting Jedi Outcast, going to the setup and then mods option and starting the MOD that way, or if you want to see a bonus intro movie, you should make a shortcut that runs the DF Mod directly. Your shortcut should look something like this: C:\Games\jedi_outcast\GameData\jk2sp.exe +set fs_game dark Substitute the correct directory for "c:\games\jedi_outcast" so that it matches where you really installed JO on your system. If you didn't call the mod directory "dark", make sure you put the right name after the "+set fs_game" part. That's about all I can think of now. I think the people @ the Dark Forces mod team worked really hard to get EVERY detail in on this map. When I checked out this map, I could faintly remember where and what to do on this map from years ago when I played Dark Forces. _______________ RIP Vlad |
