What's up everyone, I am new to the academy and wanted to say hi. I was also wondering if anyone could give me some advice on my lag situation. I am running a cable modem and have good ping, but I keep getting a connection interuption message, any help here would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome aboard. :)

Make sure you have all other programs shut off when playing JKII, especially the programs that use the Internet for something. If all those are shut off you can try tracerouting to the server to see where the holdup is. Alot of times you cant fix the problems traceroutes show, but it helps to know at least.

In a DOS box type in "tracert <server ip>" (minus the <>'s). The hops with the largest msec response time are the problem.

Hi spyder, I met you yesterday. Again welcome to the academy :)

On the problem with your ping. I'm not sure. It sounds like there is much scanning activity coming down your line. I.E. some other server is attempting to scan your computer and hogs up your line.

I don't think there is really much you can do about that. You might try using a firewall, one that hides your ports and such, so that servers aren't seeing your ip and trying to find out what you are. That's my advice, for what it's worth.
