Think about it. When I do, I sorta feel a jump in my stomach. Dunno why.  Anyway, you know how there are millions of creatures in the world other than humans? There are probably more OTHER creatures than there are humans. Say you're an "Unconfirmed Spirit" in a enormous ranch with a bunch of other Unconfirmed Spirits. Then the chooser comes along and points at you. "Human," he says. Then he points at 6 unconfirmed spirits that were circling you and says, "ants." He points to 26 US (unconfirmed spirits) and says, "fruit flies." Humans kill thousands of bugs a day. Some of those bugs' life spans are 24 hours. So you're a spirit. You've been chosen as a human. But what would happen if you were chosen to be something like an ant? Or a fly? Think of it. Instead of reading this post on the forums with thumbs, you could be wandering aimlessly in the huge razors we call grass until you find your companions or the boot comes. _______________ slorp |

If you're always happy in the present you'll be happy in the future too. But then again I think every human, or living being has the ability to be happy. It's a basic instinct, needed to survive the sometimes hard reality of life and prevent suicide. |

Damn right. What percentage of your siblings are dead? For most young people in most places throughout most of history, a typical answer would have been "about fifty percent." For most of us here, all of our siblings, if we have any, are still alive. Oh I don't know I think my dog may have it better than me: My dog gets walked once a day ( ~30 mins ) Feed 3 squares Gets a treat just for remembering to shit outside ( no wiping required ) Bathes once a month, no one cares Sleeps with no one telling it, you got class, school, work. When I saw the topic title, I thought you were going to say we should feel lucky because we have running water from our taps, internet access and in all in all pretty happy with the way we live. When I think of it that way, it makes me feel lucky, and I feel powerless, because, with all the luck and facilities I have, I can't do something that will make all the less lucky people in the world as happy as I am in an instant But when I think of it your way, and let's pretend I was a fruitfly with a soul and lasted 24 hours, wouldn't my soul just return? And, why is the life of a human more special than that of a fruitfly? Or a dolphin? Or a bird? Or a monkey? Because it lasts longer? There are some animals that last longer than a human  |
