Tobacco kills more then AIDS,Drugs,Homicides,Fires,and auto accidents combined. Cigarette smoke contains 11 chemical compounds that are known to cause cancer. Pee (urine) contains Urea,some tobacco companies add urea to cigarretes. in as little as two weeks nicotine changes the brains chemistry and addiction can begin... (glowstick) Cigarette smoke contains the radioactive isotope polonium-210. (grapes of wrath) in 1989,millions of cases of fruit where banned after a small amount of cyanide was found in just two grapes. There's thirty-three times more cyanide in a single cigerette then was found in those two grapes. (names will never hurt me) In 1984, one tobacco company referred to new customers as "replacement smokers". In 1999, one year after agreeing to stop billboard advertising, tobacco companies increased advertising spending by 33% in magazines with more than 15% youth readership. also 2,000 teens start smoking everyday. Cigarette smoke contains benzene, carbon monoxide, arsenic, hydrogen cyanide and polonium 210. Plo, I believe you have nothing but good intentions and I applaude your effort. But...I believe that most of these facts have been either exaggerated or put in a way to make them sound worse. I don't just mean the anti-smoking people, the tobacco companies do that too. Here's some REAL facts: - Every morning when I wake up, I cough up at least one huge ball of brown-ish phlegm, and also at different times during the day. - My fingers and teeth are yellow-ish. - My clothes and the interior of my truck smells. I don't notice it anymore unless I've just come out of the shower. - If I go more than a few waking hours without a cigarette, I get VERY cranky and irritable. - If I do any running or other physical activity, I get out of breath REALLY quickly. - Although I buy cigarettes really cheaply, I figured out that I spend about $1000/year on them. - A lot of women that I'm interested in dating don't smoke, and don't want to date someone who does. - During the winter, I have to freeze my ass off to have a cigarette since you can't smoke indoors in most places. Damn, someone beat me to the pee comment. Ally uor info is good, and smoking sucks; but I find the pee comment humorous.
