i hear older folks say that vinyl is better, and younger folks claim digitally mastered music is best, and everything in between. tapes, cd's, 8-tracks, mp3's, rough 4-track, etc.
what do you prefer? |

if you have ever workd behind 1 & 2, hiphop term for turntables, you will regret the digital audio revolution. it is just much more fun to scratch and play around with these controls.
But of course I preffer digital media, mainly due to shorter seeking times. Quality is secondary above a decent level. _______________ One of the Belouve boys, founder of the mighty FiZZsters Midbie council #20 - Fizz - #1933 - Jan '03 - Aug '04 "Renfield, you idiot!" |

I'm from the old school, but I think digital audio is the way to go. When it first came out, the technology wasn't as good as it is 2day. At that time, vinyl actually did sound better (minus the scratches on it). But since then, it's gotten so much better (higher sample rates, etc.) As far as how it sounds, that all depends on what you're listening to it on. An old record player on a really good stereo system still sounds better than a CD player on a crappy stereo system. I once heard a recording engineer say, "Your music will sound as good as your worst component in your audio system."
So, overall in this day and age, my vote goes to digital audio. _______________ Midbie Council Member #2 - Profile ID 2073 | Member of B@rtM@ulS@ar | Owner of Monty's 2000th comment & D@RtHM@UL's 8100th comment | Former Padawan of SilkMonkey & Arcuss JA Goaltender & NHL Fan | Fellow Rush fan to Axion|Plo Koon is my oldest JA friend Post your RL pics HERE! | Post you JK2/JK3 screenies HERE! |
