I kind of disagree, for two reasons. It's a free market, and the franchise makes big bucks. If your talents are generating huge revenues, shouldn't you yourself get a substantial share of those revenues? Secondly, the way the industry treats the big-name actors strongly affects the way they treat the unknowns. Most actors and actresses are people playing the pizza guy in an ad that will only be seen by 100,000 people. If a big star isn't in a strong bargaining position, the little guy will definitely get screwed. Note: I'm not arguing that in this parrticular case the actors are right; I don't know enough about their situation to have any opinion on that. I'm just saying that, as a matter of course, any worker, however highly paid, has every right to negotiate vigorously on his own behalf and even to threaten to walk if he is not satisfied. Remember too that an actor or any other worker takes a personal risk when he does this. The Brady Bunch was canceled when the actors did precisely this, and the ratings, although good, were just not high enough to justify meeting their demands. I haven't seen a single one of those actors in anything since then. The actors are taking a huge risk, so they must feel strongly about it, justifiably or not. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

snobs.. if they love doing they're job.. they shouldn't ask for much money.. i know if i was acting on the show.. i could care less about the money and instead care about what the people think about the show and if they enjoy it or not. _______________ Axion - Yeah.
