Comments on M@ul's single text: I think it's cool. Good job DM. Let me submit some constructive criticism. I'm also looking for something that: 1. Discusses the saber changes between JK2 and JK3. 2. A more in-depth discussion of how to be successful using the single saber in JK3. Also: 3. What are some of the general tips we always try to teach new people here at JA? How do you get better...like, NOW. What are some things what a noob could change immediately that would make significant improvement in his/her dueling ability? These tips should be here. 4. What are the postives and negatives of doing each Kata, and how do you defend against them? Or, what do you do and when do you do it? Like, "wait for 1.5 seconds as their saber comes down in the [x] position, then do a [y] to them. 5. The alternate kata's are fine, but I think they should be included at the bottom of the section in some sort of "some cool things you can do that won't help you in a fight." What's the point of doing the alternate if you can't use it your duel? Sure, it's kinda cool if you're hanging out in the courtyard or something, but other than that... ugh..thread necromancer x_x true even i did that when fighting my friends on spilt screen and i never lost in the duels i won without dying which is kinda hard when using single sabers against people using the staff saber _______________ Quote: I mostly agree oh Lord of the squeezy mop

I dunno how others learned, but once I mastered and became comfortable with jumping and positioning myself, basically mastering air combat, my ground game improved dramatically. Go figure.  _______________ "To become a greater man, you must be a lesser one first." |

I've seen people use Katas effectively to kill me in a position I could hardly avoid.  |

#3 As soon as I learned about movement, distance, and timing my attacks, I made a fair step forwards. Maybe it was something just I did wrong, (and still dont do perfectly ) but Im guessing it may help a lot if you don't have much experience. Sorry I still haven't finished this Ruuk, but school has been a pain the last few weeks, so I really didn't have time to work on it. But i've got vacation now, and i'm working on it as I typ this, so I promise, it will be done soon. Again, sorry for the delay.  |
