1987 - Lowry AFB, Colorado - Electronics Technology I was in the USAF outta HS at Lowry AFB and got the hell out as soon as I could, I was young and foolish for leaving. Had I stayed in and re-upped, I could be retiring in like 4 years. 1988 - Grumman Data Systems Institute - Electronics Technology I got a decent job after I finished here, but this was the beginning of my party days and didn't do much with it. I got kicked out of my house a lot and slept in my car in various parking lots pretty often when I couldn't find a buddy's house to crash at. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... 1992-93 - SUNY Fredonia - Music Education Still in the throes of my party days, I wound up leaving to get some general credits at the local community college (here on Long Island). Partying and a Music Ed. program don't mix too well. Not only were there a lot of classes, there was also papers and practicing for juries(kind of a recital for teachers that graded you). Free-time was non-existant, yet I made some and was put on Academic probation. That's when I decided to drop out and go to Community college. 1993-94 - Suffolk County Community College - General Studies Since I wasn't working in the last couple of years, I was getting grants and wound up attending here for nothing! In my final semester, I went to the Financial Aid Office to hand in all my paper work for the grant and the lady told me I didn't have to hand anything in because my name would show up on a roster. So, 2 weeks before the end of that semester, one of my professors told me that I wasn't on his latest class roster and should go to the Financial Aid Office. So I go there and they tell me that they never got paper work for my grant. I told them the deal that the 1st lady told me at the beginning of the semester. She said that all I could do was pay for the semester out of my pocket (about $1000) and they could reimburse me. Since I wasn't working full-time, there was no way I could pay them. So that ended my college career and I lost all the credits for that semester, and I was doing well too!  1999 - Dover Technical School - Electronic Technology/PC Repair After working as a Brass Instrument Repairman for a few years and seeing that there wasn't much room for advancement or an abundance of jobs doing this, plus hating the bastards I was working for, I decided to get into the computer industry. I got my A+ certification and worked at a couple of different places until I got laid off about 2 years ago. I haven't found anything as far as a full-time job (which I'm looking for), but I've been doing it free-lance. Unfortunately, it's not steady and there are no health benefits. And since the job market sucks right now, I'm looking to go back to school for either programming (which there is currently a market for) or something else computer-related. WHEW! I feel like I was just at a job interview! Poor DJ... I only spent 2 years at Technology Education College(rofl), and I'm well on my way to POSSIBLY landing a Walmart job! OR if things REALLY go my way, I could be ASSISTANT MANAGER of a KFC! I'd like to attend pretty much any college.. Honestly though I want to find with a good engineeing program (I'm to stupid for MIT). As some famous person said "It's more importent what you learn in college then where you go."
