I am completely engulfed in lightsabers right now, and would like to know where I can read about lightsaber fighting, more specifically the seven forms of lightsaber fighting. _______________ Why use only one saber, when you can use two, and double the mayhem? |

Those are set styles. A Jedi wields his/her Lightsaber Is their own style. And some swords have 2-3 dull/blunt sides. why learn lightsaber fighting? learn the art if the katana from a samurai or learn the butterfly sword from the xiaolin monks in the remote reigons mountainous of tibet. just take what you learn there and put a light saber in your hands instead. _______________ Shout out to DJ Sith cause he's my big bro. Windu is definately my favourite Jedi now. The book says that Vaapad is especially suited for using two sabers...cool. There are amazing fights in Shatterpoint and Windu's skill is brilliant. I was just watching AOTC and you can see Windu after he takes of Jango's head how he pauses to calm himself down. |

Finished reading Shatterpoint last week. The seventh style...or Vaapad created by Master Windu. This is the most dangerous of all styles - dangerous for the opponent, but also dangerous for the user. This is because to do it the user has to let him/herself actually enjoy the fighting and want to WIN. This puts the user in danger of turning to the dark side, hence why there have only been a few who have mastered the style - Master Windu because of his strong training and self control and his padwan Depa Billaba. Unfortunately Depa eventually succums to the Dark side through sheer despair. I would recommend reading Shatterpoint to anyone interested...it is an excellent read and Master Windu is...well....Cool! I know that form 7 is very dangerous for an average Jedi to use. It mimics different stances in other forms, but what makes it dangerous is that it is a form with an emotional factor. fighting in this form puts you right on the edge with your anger, and bitter emotions. It takes a master to control this form. Do you mean specific to the Star Wars world... I only know that the final style - the seventh was created by Master Windu and was called VaaPad. This is meantioned in the Clone Wars Novel - Shatterpoint (I'm reading that right now) "VaaPad...A predator of Sarapin, also the nickname given by students for the seventh form of lightsaber combat...Six there were, for generations of Jedi. The seventh...is not well known. A powerful form it is. Didn't they use Kendo (Japanese sword art) in the original trilogy? In the Roleplaying Game there are several lightsaber forms. They describe them and who from the movies uses them. There is no correlation between the RPG and real-life that I am aware of however. _______________ The Force is a powerful ally... ...and a terrible foe. 'SUP darth? well, if u want 2 know, in the movie they used a Taekwon do movments, i think their instructor was a Taekwon do Master, but i'm not sure. Anyway, in the Taekwon Do u have 5 different sword fighting... mayb it's based on that, but i'm not sure. In any how, it must be based on some from of martial art... so, u'll have to look up in that direction... _______________ And no grown-up will ever understand that this is a matter of so much importance! |

Seven forms of lightsabre fighting? Well, at first I figured on JA, but there are only 5 on it, and they were only developed for JA because you can't develop your own style of fighting in games. So uhh, what do you mean by that? Chances are, however, that you'll find them here. |
