dude, you want strong? how about one power that has the ability to cancel out every power the darkside has? how about a power that makes it so your oponent can't see you and everyone knows you can't hit what you can't see (well some can, but most can't) how about a power that reduces the amount of physical damage you take? i mean mean so what if you just hit them with a Rdfa? he is barely any the worse for the wear! and then even if he is hurt badly, he has a way to heal himself that can't be stopped!

Yes yes I value your opinions and I can see where your coming from and logic behind them. But the fact is that dark is better for duels, I'm sorry, it just is. The sky is blue, water is wet, darkside is better for duels Thats just the way it is. I'd love to see your fact disproven. The only difference that there really is is that light is defensive dark is offensive. If you take an American Football Superbowl approach - The defensive minded team will win more than the offensive minded team. It was proven this year with the number 1 offense vs. the number 1 defense. But that does completely apply here and none of this should be in this poor guys thread about starting an academy. The fact is that the light and dark powers are very balance overall. The only things that do make a difference are who's better at using his or her powers in the duel and which powers you choose to use. I don't think either power is better than the other. I'm not trying to argue for the darkised here, saying its all kool and good, as I said before I'm a die hard lightside Jedi. Well, Dark is definately better for me. I started out with Light, and didn't like not destroying people.
Due to the game being balanced so well, I don't think there is a huge advantage for either side in anything. In a FF duel, one good hit and some lightning or a grip kick once the absorb runs out and it's done. em Dark are easier to start with but with the light powers they can become much more powerful if you train hard enough.
Lighting i hate it so im kinda an absorb king switch it on when an electic lovin guy is near off when they move away.And if used right absorb can give you a massive edge over your opents by using up thier force while charging you.Dark can make you dependant on your force. Pull throw isn't darkside though. That purely neutral powers. The main reason is drain, it only takes 3 bars in your force pool to use, heal takes half of the whole pool, whilst they're building up for one heal (which takes lots of points to assign as well) you can keep tapping yah drain button. Sure absorb counters your force powers, but the answer is simple, don't use any on them, or just use pull throw. Wait till they run out then hit em with all you got. 9/10 times I choose the dark side. I simply like being on the offensive and making the other guy react to what I do.

Well The agressive darkside powers of grip and lightning are stopped easily by absorb. And rage is a double edged sword since it increases your powers but drains your help and makes you slow when it ends. So while you're flying around, you're doing your opponent a favor by draining your life, and if they can avoid you long enough you're a weakened opponent that moves slow. I tend to use light side simply for heal. i'm not really too sure of the force powers yet. I keep trying to find and sign up for a force class but they tend to clash with my job. |

I'm a lighty myself, simply because of the fact that I'm a heavy beleiver in whats good and right and all the other Jedi nonsense. I do use darkside powers when they are more advantageous though.
