Well he could have gotten far better, it's just that when you join Real Madrid you become a 'prima donna'. Beckham is in my opinion a person for the fans but not the real football-hero. On the Dutch telly the tv guy said: ...Maybe one day will Zidan proclaim his position between Cruijf, Pele, beckenbauwer and Maradonna... Nice discussion? The German team has to play against 'us' (the Netherlands) tonight and I'm sure we'll own them bad-ass second: I think the loss of England is not Beckham's fault (it basicly never happens that on person screws up for the entire team), but I think that if he would have scored the penalty the french would've stopped playing (2-0 behind is far different from 1-0 behind). So he should've scored that one. On the other hand he was responsible for the one goal England did make so you can't blame him that much. As an American who knows next to nothing about football (soccer), isn't Beckham supposed to be the greatest football player in the world? If so, the one thing the greatest of all athletes share is the ultimate responsibility in the fan's eyes. IOW, they get the credit when they win, and the blame when they lose. I agree with Monty; Beckham played OK, he even was the "scorer" of the 1st goal. I don't think anyone else could have made such a great pass right to the head of Lampard. It's not Beckham's fault you lost... Monty's right; it was a penalty while you were in the lead. However, this lost penalty: 1) Kinda slaughtered the Brittish psychology 2) Made the French think they could actually win IMO it was Gerrard's (yeah I found the name ) fault... Man why do people slate beckham when england lose, he missed a penualty WHILE we was winning. If they didnt score it wouldnt of mattered and i think it shouldnt matter now.
