well, f u have read the post in the academy discussion, my computers hard drive has gone wrong, causing my computer not to work well at all, so i will have to get that fixed, well i bought a laptop after i bought the desktop (the one with broken hard drive) and the laptop has a better hraphix card, (nvidia go5600 FX)and the desktops is something lese , but i know its worse lol (forgot :( and can't check if it does'nt work) . THen the laptops is a pentium 4 , and the desktops is an AMD Athlon 1600+ (i think, i'm a bit stupid lol :P ) and the laptop's cpu is 2.8 ghz and the desktops is smaller, only the RAM on both is 512mb, the strange thing is, u'd think the laptop would be faster, but the desktop is, the desktop plays JK3 with 80-95 fps, and the laptop is 30-40 with major fps freezes, I wiped off everything from the laptop and started again, as it starting becoming even slower, and when i installed broadband i started getting the SASSER virus message coming, i got sone instructions to block it which works, but has the virus got inotm y vomputer and slowed it down, is it because its a laptop its slower than the desktop, anybody computer whizzes able to answer my question, i beg for some help :D i apologize for my dumbness :D

Well, pLOOkOON managed to fix the trouble he was having with his internet browser acting slowly (by installing Firefox and using it instead), but he still has trouble with online games. He's worked out that it's something in his internet settings or drivers... games work just fine offline.

What graphics card drivers are you using? Have you tried a separate benchmarking program (like 3DMark 2001 or 2003)? How much RAM is *free* in the laptop compared to the desktop?

I assume the framerates you're talking about are for JK3?
