Well, c1 is writing atm a modding/programming section for the holocron, so I suggest that you read that when it comes out, cuz well, c1 knows his stuff about modding :P

But if you're in a hurry, here's what you need:
For Windows mods:
- Visual C++ .NET (for JKA mods), but v6.0 can also work.
- Visual C++ 6.0 (for JK2 mods)

For *NIX mods:
- Any *NIX compiler, preferrably GCC and then cmake.

Hope this helps :)

In order to mod you must be familiar and fluent in one of the many programming languages. I believe that modding for JA is done in C++ but correct me if I'm wrong. If it is you'll need to pay $99 to buy the software (Visual C++) or if you can find a free compiler somewhere, even better.
