I kinda agree with Nero. It's not a city with a crapload of sights. It's more the city you just walk around in. |

I think it's great fun to just walk around in the area's near the center, there are all kinds of different people, all different kind of shops, just everything ![]() In my opinion Amsterdam isn't the, I-want-to- go-in-all-kinds-of-special-things-city. It's just great fun to walk around a bit and see what it's all about ![]() I'm not into the disco stuff really, just 14 yo ![]() there ![]() Have fun ![]() _______________ -Nero Quote: Curious, Smartass, what else? |

I can't recommend the Anne Frank house. For me it was boring. Very boring. If you think it's some sort of WW2 museum, you're wrong, it's just her house with some info in it. Very little material. But I guess if you're into all that, it's fine enough. |

I love Amsterdam ![]() If you want to go see some more serious stuff: ---------- Anne frank House. (The place where Anne frank and her family took shelter during WW2) Very impressive to see. Location: Prinsengracht 263 ---------------- Another tip would be: Rent a BIKE. Seriously! Rent a bike, and just explore the city on it a bit. It's great fun. ---- Concertgebouw (Concert building): It's a pretty famous building, since it is known for it's great acoustique, and hey, it looks nice ![]() Address: Concertgebouwplein 2-6 ----------- Verzetsmuseum (Resististance museum) The resistance museum is really impressive. It gives you a really good view of how things went in the war. First time I walked out there I felt a bit "down" though. Don't go there if you can't handle it, or are looking for a "fun-only" day. I do think it is mandatory you visit it though. Address: Plantage Kerklaan 61 ----- Madame Tussaud Wax statues. 'Nuff said. Address: Dam 20 ---- Rijksmuseum Another mandatory one. Probably the most famous museum in holland. van Gogh paintings, sketches, statues, Asian art, Dutch History. Definately worthwhile. Address: Stadhouderskade 42 ----- van Gogh museum The name says it all. More than 200 paintings, 500 sketches.... Address: Paulus Potterstraat 7 ----- Stedelijk Museum Another pretty famous museum. This one shows a lot of (semi-) modern art like Picasso, Monet, Chagall.... And it is next to the van Gogh museum! Address: Paulus Potterstraat 13 |

Red Light District. Yes, I'm serious, it's a funny place. Especially when you see 3 police officers getting out of a 'shop', all of them smiling, or when you see a group of 25 Japanese businessmen "short cutting" through a narrow alley. ![]() Other than that... Amsterdam Arena? |

Aww man I was just watching a documentary on the Cannibus Cup in Amsterdam too....but I can't remember the names of any of the places. Sorry, it's no help, but I'm sure any "coffee" shop will do just fine ![]() _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all.
