WineX has undergone a major overhaul, so major that they've even given it a new name, Cedega. It supports SWG, WOW (even though it isn't even out yet), Battlefield Vietname and apparently all the "A-list" games. This is big news, and consequently their web site has been taking a lot of hits, so be patient. http://www.transgaming.com/products_linux.php  I wasn't impressed with SWG, but I loved the idea, so I might give it another try. _______________ My signature is only one line. Up until now you could subscripe to Transgaming, at $5/month, with a three-month minimum when you first subscribe (cancel any time after that). For you subscription, you could download the RPMs to install WineX and Point2Play (I never liked P2P). But you didn't have to subscribe. The CVS tree was open to the public, and you could get the latest source of WineX and compile it yourself. This was not an undertaking for the squeamish. I subscribed for three months, got my RPMs and let my subscription run out. I renewed to get Cedega. One thing about getting it for free via CVS was that they didn't exactly advertise how to do this. The web site mentioned it briefly, but you really had to hunt to find the details on how to do it. They wanted you to pay. Since Cedega came out, I'm not even sure you can still get it for free (though I don't know otherwise either). _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |
