Just curious. I got my first results back a few days ago. I'm a Junior in highschool and took it my first time and got a 1040. I'm gonna take it all next year though too so I'll improve. |

I only took the sats once, but I'm good with standardized tests. I got a 1300 (700 eng, 600 math) _______________ I must not fear . Fear is the mind-killer. I never took the SAT, got a 31 on the ACT. Man, i suck at math. I got 29 and a 30 on ACT, could have done better. SAT 1430. Solid score, probably the best possible for me. Missed 1-2 sily math questions heh, stupid mistakes bah  And 1040 for your age is a solid score. About ACT and SAT requirements. I think ACT is more preferred down south, SAT north heh. never took one o them there fancy SATs, I took the ACT once, got a 29, taht was goodenough for my scholarship, so never worried bout it. _______________ Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation. |

I know NY State colleges require at least the SAT and the ACT is optional. As for private colleges it all depends on the college. At least that's how it was in the early '90s. I took my SAT 5 years after I graduated HS and I was totally jones-ing for a cigarette half way through it. I still managed to squeak out an 1100. No one was more shocked than me! It doesn't matter whether it's in-state or out-of-state. Some colleges require one, some the other. The one I went to would accept either one. A little trivia: SAT scores were "normalized" in the mid-90s, meaning they adjusted the scoring methodology to add about 100 points to the average score. Average scores had been falling for years, and that was an easier fix than improving the public schools. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

If I remeber correctly ACT = for in-state colleges SAT = for out of state colleges I never applied out of state, nor did I take ths SAT, nor did one admissions person ask for my SAT score. And I got a 10 the 1st time I took the ACT ( appeartly I you cant run out of the room to throw-up, smelling like alcohol, isnt gonna win you any sympathy with the person who is watching you either ) The second time I got 9 hours sleep and had a big-ass bowl of fruit-pebbles ( no day can be bad after if you have alot of fruity-pebbles ) and I got a 25. Funny thing the ACTs most people are either 29-35 or 18-22 the people who fall into the 23-28 range make up the smallest percentage ( the dude administering the test the 2nd time I took it told me that so the stats may have changed ) _______________ Silent Bob (Kevin Smith): You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. Last year (when I was 8th grade) I took the SATs for fun and got 710 in Math (due to "careful-less-ness" ) and 470 in Verbal. Who cares about Verbal; btw I heard they're upgrading Math next year, by adding 80% of the SATII Math Level 1 stuff in it. _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |

<- lazy ass never took either, I go to a college that doesn't require those...its both good and bad that they don't meaning that they take anyone who has atleast a GED, so I've seen a few people come through who were complete morons, don't mean to offend/piss off anymore, but they thought they could be programmers and failed the first programming class a few times.. ACTs and SAT's are just about the same things, just scored diferently, or that's what I remember my teachers saying when I was in high school. IIRC I got a 1180 on my SAT and a 32 on my ACT. That was back in '96. My cousin who's a junior in hs just got a 1560. I don't believe it. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

ACTs hmm never heard of those. My best friend has test anxiety so she didn't do that well either. I'm helping her bring up her score though. It was the highest in my junior class so far so I'm proud but I know I can do so much better. |

never took the SATs. Ohio only requires taking the ACTs. I got a 29 out of 36 both times I took it. so what were they? Mine were kinda low. I get test anxiety so I had a hard time with them. I think it was like 860 or something like that.
