this what they say at gamespot: Quote: LucasArts mum on layoff reports Reliable industry sources say pink slips are flying at LucasArts; staffers offer no comment. Reliable industry sources tell GameSpot News that numerous uncorroborated reports about layoffs at LucasArts are correct. Those reports state that up to 50 employees--including senior staffers RJ Berg, Randy Breen, Mike Lampell, and Daron Stinnett--have been let go from the company's development and production departments. Another source with close ties to the company said additional staff reductions were likely in the coming weeks. If true, the personnel cuts would mark the second major downsizing at LucasArts in the last 15 months. Last April, the San Rafael, California-based developer reduced its payroll by 29 positions. The company has seen changes at the top as well. Longtime president Simon Jeffery resigned last October, and he was replaced by LucasFilm vice president Jim Ward. The layoffs would also come a month after LucasArts reportedly withheld annual bonuses from its entire staff. However, none of this is official--yet. When contacted by GameSpot, LucasArts representatives declined to comment on any personnel changes. if this continues then its BYE BYE LucasArts ![]() _______________ -Evil Clown- "We interrupt this program to increase dramatic tension." Its not necessarily a bad thing. They can be going through a lot of changes and laying off people they won't need in the future. They've been more of a distributor for many games now as opposed to being the developers: SWG, KOTOR 1 & 2, JK2 and JK3. If they aren't making as many of their games in house then they won't have as a big of a need for those employees. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. well, if I know companies well, and my accounting I might add, they are reducing their pay-cost, which of course means that things are not going very well However, this will reduce their costs, so the company might shrink, but it will remain Well, that's what they hope to achieve anyway They fired some old-timers there, because generally they are paid more money, so you can see the logic behind their releases of their people. _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website!
