I think if you are above a certain age, you should be able to decide what you ingest/inhale for yourself. Personally i would never smoke or inject something into myself. But i will admit to drinking a bit to much alcohol every now and then, and yes it can be as bad a thing as doing other drugs. The issue of passive smoking (and passive drinking yeh sure w/e) is the only complication to my arguement.In my job i have seen a lot of ppl whose lives have been completely screwed up because of drugs, but i still believe that there are a lot of legal ways to do that too. It's up to the individual to look out for the welfare of themselves AND society. yeh anyway, that my US$0.014 (damned aussie dollar) _______________ A wizard did it. |

Fact: You can't get a contact "high" unless its blown directly into your lungs. The smoke goes stale once it reaches the air after about 2 seconds, and the THC no longer takes effect. I learned this from several drug counselors. If anyone says they've gotten off from contact, they were either imagining it or lying. Actually I'd say smoking pot is closer to cigarrettes than alcohol. The effects are different but if you're knocking back cold ones in a room full of people, no ones going to get contact drunk from you. I'm not the be all end all of knowledge on ol' Mary Jane, BUT before I joined the Army Reserves I was known to have a bit here and there, and as for Addiction...it has been medically proven one cannot become addicted to Weed...there are no addictive substances in it. By the way for some useless trivia Nicotine (Cigerettes) is the worlds most addictive substance. Even Cocaine takes a back seat to it, when one quites Cocaine for good lasting effects like cravings only last for a few weeks, a month at most...you never recover from Cigerettes anything can trigger a craving years after quiting..... makes you think that a substance worse then Cocaine are in the hands of people on a legal basis...  _______________ Look unto me for I possess the blue flag!! A little bit of pot doesn't hurt anyone - some people like to do it from time to time, big deal. As long as they don't become addicts. Also, legislation of soft drugs isn't as bad as some people make it out to be - we've certainly had our share of benefits from making the entire weed thing legal. |

Alaska's been trying to legalize pot for the past 5 or 6 years. It never passes though. And regaurding Buzz's post: How often is a federal agent going to arrest some kid smoking a joint, or someone with glaucoma for the matter? It won't matter. Its still illegal by federal law. The US has said that they still retain the right to prosecute people in states where medical marijuana is approved.
