If you've been checking my server page recently you may have noticed the sheer multitude of skins on there. I'd like you reccomendations on what should stay and what should go. Leave comments on this news post with the skins you want to keep, and the skins you want to ditch. If skins get enough votes they'll stay on the server pack. Thanks for your help! |

No! not the mandalorian skins! well i don't care about any other skins but please keep the mandalorian skins and the qui-zan-buzzua skin, anyway the red mandalorian in the skin pack is my chartacters (rpg thing) skin.

Nah, we should get rid of that Zero Knight skin. It's cool, but really only one guy uses it anyways.

Im mainly planning on getting rid of the skins that *absolutely* no one uses (like the lianotte pack, the kronar skins, etc). Theres no point in having a bazillion skins on the server if no one can see it. After a while you can have so many skins that JK2 won't show all of em in the skin selection list. I've lost a few good skins that way & that's something I'm trying to avoid. I'll drop the Jar Jar one mainly because he messes up how Kyle talks.

Couple o' thoughts...
There's a .zip file that contains all of the skins. I'd like to see a link to that PROMINENTLY displayed on the server page. A mention of it in the FAQ might be warranted as well, because it is in fact a Frequently Asked Question. If we're ditching skins, but if there are still a few people who like the less popular ones, would it be an acceptable solution to remove them from the .zip file but still have the server support them? They wouldn't even have to be listed on the server page; there could be an Also Supported Skins page. That way you could reclaim real estate on the server page and pare down the .zip file a lot while still maintaining server support for a huge variety of skins. Something I _really_ like about the Academy servers is the role-playing aspect of it, and having lots of different skins means that almost everyone can pick something that is, if not unique, at least not in use by lots of other people at the same time. A skin may not be used at all, but we never know when a new student will join, start using it and give it a character, sort of make it his own. If we're prioritizing, I'd say keep the Star Wars-themed skins and ditch the non-Star Wars ones first. Sorry, Duffman was funny, but the novelty wore off quickly for me. How many Boba Fetts do we really need? Yeah, yeah, I know: They're not all Boba Fett. Some are Jango Fett, who just happens to look like Boba. Then there's Boba Fett from his young-adult days, which looks pretty much the same because he's in his armour. Then there's the Boba Fett-Having-a-Bad-Hair-Day skin, though you can't see his hair so it looks pretty much the same. Not to mention his brother Daryl Fett and his other brother Daryl Fett, who also look just like him. Maybe we should just pick one Boba and pink-slip the others. I would dump any model that doesnt have supporting audio (whats the point of haveing Luke from ANH or ESB without a cool audio taunt?)...that's the most annoying thing to me. Also, can u add the han solo blaster...it rocks compared to the bryar pistol! (P.S., the gungans and starwars droids are great please keep them and if u dump multiple vaders please keep the cheshire vader that's the good one. Same goes with the "gm_Maul_model" that's the good darth maul.)
P.S.S. Could you add the new "ep1quigon" qui-gon gin model? ...its much better than the previous one. |

also i suggest you remove: - lysander (graphical problems may arise for some people - also it doesn't seem to like shaders very much) - the jar jar skins (not only are they annoying , but one of them apparently has a sound fault which causes kyle to talk like the idiot jar jar :\ )

As long as you keep the Kit Fisto pak Im cool. Anyone who knows me knows that I am quite partial to the Kit Mitsu skin. Its the all black with yellow eyes version of Kit Fisto. |
