Okay, so this news post is long overdue for two reasons: #1, There hasn't been a news post since April. #2, The content of this news post should have been covered ages ago (although a Forums post has been made about it).
So apologies for that. 
Basically, servers. Here's the deal... Kaelis and Myself provide our official EU Servers, but due to a loophole in the contract that we had with our company on their part concerning the amount of bandwidth used, they decided to shut our box down. This meant that JA Euro Home went down, as did Jaktorow (Aurochs Server) and our two MovieBattles Servers. We are currently in the process of getting a new (and better) box with a different company and getting all of our servers back online again the reason we've been held up is because one of us had an unforseen RL issue that had to be addressed, so we need to wait for payday again before we can finalise the Server purchases, so please bare with us, they'll be back soon! (Huge apologies to the Aurochs as well) 
As for the US Servers... I personally am not sure why they're down and I wasn't actually aware of it until recently. I did speak with Huxley a few weeks ago though - he was unaware of the "slowmo lag" troubles that we were having on them and felt really bad about it, he told me that he'd get them working properly again - so maybe the US Server downtime is due to Hux giving them a bit of an audit.
There are a couple of (really awesome) people who have been good enough to donate servers to us recently, Johauna and Solitude. Johauna is having a few problems with her hosting company right now but is confident her server will be back online any time now, so her server information will be updated as soon as that happens Solitude has only just recently donated his server. So thank you very much to both members, we really appreciate it!

These news posts, as well as their comments, are publicly viewable. Since the academy servers are private and restricted to JA members only, posting the IP and passwords for them is not an option. You can always find them on the servers page, provided that you are logged in. |

I am still in the process of having the server fixed. Due to its unstability (it was going down every time after each hour in last month) the server providers moved it to other computer, which they claim to be more stable. All we are waiting is - server will be moved on the original IP as well as they need to fix it so we have old good settings in it as well.

The US servers are down at the moment. The european servers were taken offline permanently, but we should have new ones at the end of this month. Johauna's server always goes offline within hours of support fixing it. Solitude's server is still up, though may be going down soon for a short while for upgrades.

It's the fastest server on the academy! At some times 'connection problem' appeared but it was gone after 1 second. (I was downloading MB while I was playing and I also have a faster connection then before.) _______________ May the force be with you. And may the academy stand forever! |

My ping is awesome, the server is the fastest and smoothest I've seen so far.
So far, I've had no problems on the server, although if I recall correctly, I had a spike for about 1 second once, a while after my dad (who downloads things often) went to bed. Glad to help out.
This is just a general note for anyone curious: The current server is on a 100mb line, but is somewhat ancient. Pentium 3 Coppermine 1GHz, 512MB ram, 9gb hdd. I have just ordered some new parts, so this week, it is being upgraded to: Pentium E2180 Allendale, Dual-core 2GHz 1MB L2 cache, 2GB ram, RAID-1 80GB disks. So, when the parts arrive, expect some downtime while I migrate accounts and data over.
