Actually, he was still active when he was injured. He ran a wrestling school/promotion called Toryumon, which was based in Japan AND Mexico. He trained alot of guys over time. You remember the Yung Dragons from WCW (Kaz Hayashi, etc)? Those were his students. He also trained Dragon Kid, who is his prodige...wears a similar mask and stuff. |

Actually, his name is Ultimo Dragon, which means "The Last Dragon", as he was the last student of Bruce Lee. Yeah, the injury was nasty, so i'll explain it... Ultimo had a mild elbow injury, nothing shocking really. Though, WCW insisted their surgeons perform the operation to fix him up. He reluctantly agreed - and guess what? They screwed up, and damaged a nerve in his arm. He's back now, though! He worked a tour in Japan, and even won the NWA Middleweight championship from The Great Sasuke, which he then vacated, and now he's working for WWE. Now, they're totally mis-using perhaps the soundest wrestler in the world today. The guy's excellent as far as lucha, puro, mat skills, and martial arts go...so why not push him to the moon? Oh, wait...he's not a big, fat, crappy wrestler. That's why he isn't getting pushed. |
