I've just installed Windows 7 so I have to see if JKA is compatible. I think it is, but I have to reinstall all the programs I use to use. Read this. Appcompat.txt is merely is file which contains information about the crash so it can send it to Microsoft (so they can develop fixes for it). The file itself should contain the location of the trouble file on your computer, if you can understand it.
This error occurs when there is some kind of conflict (allegedly with compatibility mode but I think the guy that said that hadn't done enough research). You can try updating your drivers, playing with the compatibility settings of the trouble file (presumably jamp.exe in GameData), delete the jampconfig.cfg file from GameData/base and any mod folders (this will delete all your settings so feel free to back it up somewhere else first), remove all mod pk3s except assets#.pk3 files from GameData/base and if the problem still occurs, you could try altering your graphics settings, but you will have to know what you're doing otherwise it could make it worse. I cannot give you a link to the ozzcoz map because there is none that I am aware of and it is not supposed to be on there. |

I'm not familiar with that error. You could try reinstalling the game and only downloading and installing the_academy_v3 into your base folder. A clean game with fresh configuration files and no other modifications should connect fine.
Also, out of curiousity, where did you get your game from and what version is it? The version is displayed in the console which you can open by holding shift and pressing the button just left of 1. This comment was edited by Setementor on Jan 04 2009 10:46pm. |

Lol, dont worry about Java, if you intend on playing regularly I recomennd you download this http://www.mirc.com/. It allows access to the jedi-academy "channel" by typing /join #jedi-academy also, for server monitoring and easy connection you could try this. I use it and have no troubles. http://www.hlsw.org/ it's very useful. It lets you know, who's on what server etc etc. Both are fairly user friendly (which is good because im a noob with stuff like that). If your stuck with anything add my msn. I'm usually online, even if im appearing offline

If you cant find it, it doesn't mean its not there. In future try pressing the Tilde button the type in the relevant password for the server like so
/password whateverthepasswordis /connect the:relevant:IP:address Should work because on the server display page I cant find Academy servers either I have them all as shortcuts on my desktop.
