RNG/THF is an awesome combination. MNK/WAR is also! But if i were you i would go with ranger. Downfall to a ranger job is it requires a lot of gil. Arrows become quite expensive. You would have to lvl your thief to lvl 30 or another job before you can do the quest for ranger. All the advanced jobs you can get at lvl 30. There are quests for each one.
