I thought MI2 was darker and not quite of the level of MI1, but differences are only minor. (E.g. they both generally received 9/10 ratings.) If you liked MI1, you're also gonna like MI2.
MI3 is awesome, too. I believe it's Jaina's favorite game in the franchise. Mine is MI4. I personally hated MI5, because the humor felt forced and attempted rather than spontaneous. Congratulations on the Knightship. I remember the D'Kanas from way back when. They should tell you about the Belouves.
If the D'Kanas are anything like I remember them, you run with a good crowd. I made Knight back in 2002, so, yeah...lotta old dust hanging around this place.
