It hasn't happened to me in a few days.
Re-install and update to 1.03 from this page. http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/jedioutcast2.htm Play against bots to see if it still crashes, if not, update to 1.04 using the link above. If you already have an updater, get rid of it when you re-install the game and get new ones as you go.
