That's good news man :) If you need a hand getting it to work - gimme a shout :) Alternatively, there are a couple of decent alternate-clients out there, such as Trillian (www.trillian.cc) and Gaim (Windows port - http://gaim.sourceforge.net). I personally use Gaim, but its a little trickier than either Trillian or MSN if you're not sure of what you're doing :)

Heya Koyi,

I was just doing my bi-monthly comment round at the JA and thought I'd drop you a note to say 'hi' and see how you're getting along! How's life treating you guys? Is everything improving or still much the same? Hopefully we can have a chat sometime, it just seems that we're never around at the same time.

God bless, take care.

E III kinda made me root for the Dark Side a bit. After reading into their thoughts and playing Kotor, they really aren't too bad. The killing is a touch much, but the Sidious was really concerned for Vader and looked almost as Ben looked over Luke in the Dune Sea in E IV. Their idioligy is strong, but effective if they had the means to carry it out and the galaxy would have been at peace. :)

Thanks Koyi for your humble words...always the example I wish to be one day :-)

I am sorry for your loss and the hard times at the moment. As I have said in some of my comments, you have indirectly helped me through my dark times with your Bible study forum. I have learned a lot from you and the thread. If there is any way I can help you through yours then I am here for you.

The loss of your mother I can only imagine must be a devastating...

Although nothing in comparison, my loss was of a friend and mentor who was brutally murdered....with your help I have finally come to terms with this.

A lesson I have learned is that he is with God and that no-one or nothing can harm him now. Who better is there to look after him than God? I take great comfort in this thought.

Another lesson I have learned and is a lesson my wife and I have learned...to be comfortable just being together without any words spoken. Sometimes there just are no words, but just the companionship, the comfort of knowing you're not alone and not feeling obliged to say something. This is important. It means you are in the same boat, you are not alone and are walking the same path together. It doesn't matter that you dont fully understand each others suffering, but that you are both suffering in some way, but together. For me, without that it would have made things much worse.

I really hope you and Kim can find your balance to be "comfortable just being together without words spoken".

I'm not sure what else I can say, except Thank you and that you and Kim are in my prayers.

"May light perpetual shine upon your mother, and may she rest in peace."

Your friend

I love you too baby. :) Sorry I'm not myself right now. Seems like something is really wrong with me right now in the head as of late. Please don't worry about me asking me a million times what's bothering me because I couldn't give you a solid answer. A whole lot of everything and nothing all at once is the answer with no real way of sorting it out. Hang in there with me and before you know it this will all be but a passing memory. :)

I will try and not ask you whats wrong anymore, but it pains me sooo bad inside to see you this way, yet I have no idea what is going on with you. I love you from the bottom of my heart and its killing me too, more then you know, to see you this way. I feel so lost and shut out of your life but yet I share every single thought I have with you so that you always know whats going on with me. Couples are supposed to go through things together, not alone. You don't have to talk to me but I wanted to share my feelings with you. For it pains me from my stomach to my head so bad to see you this way. Im shut out and want to help. I feel like im such a failure as your gf, although i know you dont think I am. I cant get you smile and I feel like I should be able to. Im really worried about you. :(:(:(:(

I will continue to pray for you. Please try not to get consumed with the BS of this world. None of it matters baby. Not me or anything else matters. Spend some time with God and the bible, I am sure that is the only thing that will make you feel better.

I love you always and forever baby. *huggles and kissles*

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but is the Pentuach the Torah? Maybe it's the name for the translated text? I'm a little confused. :)

Yes it is. I believe the book we use during services is called a Chumash (pronounced Khu-mash).

Quote:
I'm thinking that the 5 books of modes are what we have in our Bible as the first five books of Moses being Genesis, Exodus, Levidicus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Is this correct? Also, is the haftorah the remaining books of the Bible, (the prophets, psalms, proverbs, and other scriptural books)? Are any missing from what we have tranlated in our english versions? Are there any extra books that we don't have? I'm sorry for all the questions DJ. :) It's just asking around in religious (christian based) stores and book stores alike people were looking at me like I had two heads and I would really like to know as much as I can about what I'm looking for to limit confusion. :D

Modes is a typo. I was referring to the 5 books of Moses. :) The haftorah contains all those extra scriptual books. Typically the weekly parshah will have a corresponding Haftorah reading which will exemplify or clarify the parshah.

Quote:
While I was looking around in those stores, I did however go them to pull up on there computers a Interliniar Bible containing Greek, Hebrew, and English. This looks to be like the most amazing Bible ever to me. :D I was just wondering if you heard anything about it or know if the Interliniar texts are actually translated word for word instead of trying to make it easy for us to read. It's priced at $160 which isn't a small purchase for me in the least so I wanna make sure I'm getting what I'm paying for. I don't want english which I already posses but a very careful word for word translation even if something looks like, "And with a male you shall not lay lyings of a woman". If this is what I'm up against in that Biblical Hebrew, thank you for the warning. :D

The Chumashot I'm used to reading appear to have a quasi-literal translation. The "what it really means" enhancements are probably affected by the various Rabbininc interpretaion texts. If you feel like reading a bunch you can pick up a copy of the Talmud to see what the ancient Rabbis thought about torah verses. I've never tried an interlinear text. Not knowing Greek hinders me a little there. :)

Quote:
Thank you very much again for this information. I'm not aware of any in my area, but I'm sure they exist. I'll be sure to look around for one and perhaps I should visit a local place of worship to gain this knowledge. Do you think they would get offended by me asking this?

Your neighbourhood may also have a Jewish Community Center. Most of those will have a store with this stuff there or at least a map to a good Jewish store. I know at least at my synogauge thy won't mind you asking questions. Everyone's got to spread their version of the word, right? :)

Hey Jeff,

This is kind of related to the discussion we had on IRC yesterday, about the Military and whatnot. Anyway, it's a pretty inspiring story about a Corporal Desmond T. Doss, who served in the Pacific theater in World War II. If you get the chance, check it out. :)

Take care, see ya around!
