To anyone who cares/reads my profile: Due to some recent events, I have decided to quit the Academy. There is a possibility that I come back, but it's pretty slim. I've thought of quiting the JA several times, but never did I have enough, or important enough, reasons. On the contrary, now, I see no reason for me to stay. I'm half welcome, and half not. And just like a typical quit msg, I'll add that this place isn't what it used to be. It has changed; in a bad way. I'd rather not go into details here, for it might end up in my account being closed (by an admin), which will totally erase my chances of coming back. I also want to add that I've made lots of new friends here, all of which have helped me. This post was made in Mozilla 1.7.3 on GNOME 2.6 on Linux 2.4.26-gentoo-r9! OMG I rule! That is, having enlisted Skye's help to figure out xorgconfig - being stuck in 640x480 was driving me crazy. So I downloaded Gentoo's Universal LiveCD, fired it up, setup the network, and so on. It was all going great, until I got to the part about installing drivers. The readme warned me about dependencies, but of course I didn't read the list. SO: I'm typing this on links2 run off the Gentoo CD (root on vc/3), while xorg-x11, a dependency I failed to notice, compiles in the background. Oh, wait, it's done. Only took, what, just over an hour. Wow. Well, now that that's done, I can move on to fstab and rc.conf, bootloader setup, and then (w00t!) booting into my own Linux system...
