A better question is what ones wouldn't I recommend. I'd really suggest the X-wing novels by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston. Also go for the Heir to the Emprie Trilogy and the Hand of Thrawn Duology by Timothy Zahn. These are definitely my favorite Star Wars Authors. If you just want a single novel to read I'd go with I, Jedi by Michael Stackpole. These are the novels I have the most habit of re-reading several times.
