Hey... I just wanted to pop in and say that I am REALLY sorry that I missed our session today. I was rather tired after work (as I always am) and I unfortunately fell asleep on the couch. Time for an info post... First off...Im gonna list the times for sessions once again. I have added a saturday session for my newly added US paddies, since i think the thursday session is kinda hard for you guys to make. Of course the euro paddies can take part in the saturday session, but it will mostly be a US substitue to the thursday session.. So...here are they: Thursday - 7 pm GMT [1 hour] Saturday - 2 am GMT [1 hour] Sunday - 7 pm GMT [1 hour] Alrighty. Now...I would like for you all to get and install teamspeak, even if you dont have a mic. The point of this is that i can easier and faster hold my sessions..and by doing that get more info in one hour. You can get the teamspeak2 software here. And you will find instructions on how to install and configure it here. That should get you set up.. Ok... Lastly.. There will be no saturday and sunday sessions this week. This due to me being out of town visiting my wonderful girlfriend. Hey man. This is a standard message i use to all new paddies. Just basic info.. Let me welcome you into the Classic NofrikinfuN red stance family... Now then... This is how things work with me... Naturally you actions in the JA reflect back on me...And as such I expect the same devotion to the rules and regulations from you as I have myself... If i recive complaints i will act according to my own judgment. (Thats just the standards i keep..Nothing specifict to you in any way...so no sweat..) I try to keep up with having 2 padawan sessions a week... They are as follows: Thursday 7:00 pm GMT (1 hour) Sunday 7:00 pm GMT (1 hour) If this works for you...sweet..if not..get back to me..and i'll try to ajust it to fit all padawans... Thats it I think....Oh yes...Take time to greet your padawan brothers and sister...I think you know most of them... Well. For breakpoints, I just stand with redstance and do a swing, and then I try to find the longest amount of time I can wait before I can do the second swing. In essence, I try to move as little as possible (i.e. using the strafe left/right keys) while still swinging. It helps one learn timing and the ability to move one direction while swinging the other. On top of that, I added practicing delayed swings, which means pausing in the middle of a combo, then completing the combo a bit after. It throws the timing off a bit and makes red very unpredictable and significantly more dangerous. I find the best way to time it is this: Do the first swing of a combo in red stance. Wait until one of your hands lets go of the saber handle. As soon as they both touch again, do the second/third swings. If you mix up spins into that as well, your redstance becomes very difficult to predict. As for the range, I just swing at the pillars outside and try to hit them from maximum possible distance with various swings to learn which ones are longer and shorter, and by how much. I'd love to train with you but unfortunately, my game is broken. If I ever get it fixed, though, just give me a holler. :-) _______________ © |

Here's what I did every day for a week to go from knowing no yellow at all to being pretty decent with it: Scissors (standing left+right swings) - 5 mins Sweeps (crouching left+right swings) - 5 mins Diagonal slashes (fwd+left/fwd+right, back+left/back+right, fwd+right/back+left, fwd+left/back+right) - 20 mins (5 mins each) Breakpoints - 5 mins Range Practice - 10 mins (5 minutes yellow, 5 red) Movement Training - 5 mins Movement Training while swinging - 5 mins If you have any questions about anything, please drop me a line :-) _______________ © This comment was edited by Carve on Feb 15 2004 08:47pm. |
