Actually, I could just write it in here as a comment.. The '(something)' means that I figured it was gamespeak so to say, which can't really be translated unless you play the game.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New in 1.03 1.03 gives us a lot of changes and fixes. We get a bunch of new sounds (T98, China & Mec Jeep, and a new cannonsound for the "panzer"  . Farm-pointing eliminated. You can't stand and heal a teammate for infinite time anymore. You also can't sit and repair a helicopter to get flags in the air.The physics has been changed on the veichiles which makes it harder to kill soldats by driving over them, and more bugs like the "Blackhawk-bug" which made the blackhawk explode if you hit a certain point. The new patch is big, 175 mb, and contains a lot of new fixes. Many of them are eagerly awaited as a part of them can be accepted with a small bickering about them. For example: You must jump out of the APC to help to get a flag, which is discussed on the forums if it is a good or bad thing. Some fixes though, are according to myself a must and the thing I love the most is that the TV-guided missiles finally have got a proper and very good steeringsystem. You can now click on your target to get a dialog with an 'X', clicking this 'X' will result in your missile firing. If you want to change target you just click on another thing and the 'X' changes. A double-click will send the missile which now moves better and you get the feeling that you finally can steer the missile wherever you want, without clicking multiple times with the mouse. You can calmly and concentrated click yourself further and the missile responds immidiately. The messy BFHQ has got a facelift and the function to compare different stats seems to be a cool little thing. The demands for ranking has been lowered, which will be a positive surprise for many when they're gonna go up in rank directly after they played on a ranked server after they installed the patch. Another welcome detail is that DICE/EA have integrated a textsystem which makes it possible for them to inform important events directly without us needing to check the official site all the time. Every time BF2 starts there's gonna be a screen if there are any new reports to read. If you don't want to read the message you can just close the query and go in on your favorite server. I did tell you that we finally can save our favorite servers? The autobalance has also been thourougly improved and what I have discovered so far, it's been taking care of business splendidly. Although this is a thing which always is more tweakable. The commander is also gonna get a little easier to play after you take off the TK punishments at artillery(something). Even we normal soldats have gained a couple of new updates. For example we can see where the commander puts the (something) on our mini-map. Maybe the most awaited thing in the 1.03 -patch is the possibility to put a prefix in your nick. This works so that everytime you start BF2 you just have to write what prefix you want in a small textfield, before you log in on your account. This means that you can change your prefix everytime you log in, your prefix isn't stored 'til the next time your play and it doesn't interfere with your stats. Mods Finally a bit of true modsupport even in the menu. BF2 automaticly activates the installed mods if you connect to their server, you can even filter the mods in the serverbrowser (which feels a lot faster than before, although I prefer ASE). Even moders are gonna be happier now when you, according to the changelog, can easily use the BF2 archive. Serverfixes The adminis can now reserve slots on their server, no more problems with joining on one's own full server. You can also easily add your admins in the serverfile by writing in their accountnames. There is also some smaller fixes, like for instance fixed the linux-server crashing when it tried to contact EA's statsserver. Endstats BF2 v.1.03 has been greatly awaited, loved and hated. Now it's finally here for the players to use and I can only say that I love it and think that most people are gonna find similar feelings to mine about the patch. Besides the fixes I tried to explain in this article, there are hundreds of smalltweaks here and there which will improve the game.
