Isildur had four sons, three were killed in battle while the forth, Valandil was safe in Imladris(Rivendell). Isildur was king of the Northern Kingdom of Arnor while his brother Anárion was king of the Southern Kingdom of Gondor. Both Kingdoms were formed just before the end of the second age. The Southern Kingdom of Gondor remained intact despite losing its royal line in 2050 of the third aged, with the southern royal line destroyed this meant that the northern line now had claim to kingship of Gondor. But the Northern Kingdom had been destroyed in 1975 Third Age. At this point the Northern royal line became a wandering cheiftain of the north, this was still the case when Aragorn came to power in the north. Between Valandil and Aragorn there are 38 kings or cheiftains of the royal line. Saw last night on the server you were a little surprised after watching TTT that Aragorn was over 80. Someone explained by saying that he was of the Dunedain but I guess that didn't really answer any questions you may have had. So assuming you haven't already got any answers you may be looking for(be warned when look for answers to do with LotR, usually you end up with more questions) Beauty Tips for 80 year olds 101 Elves and Humans get it on and we end up with a few half elves. Four of these half elves are give a choice of being either elves(and immortal) or human(and dying) by the Valar(sort of the living gods who live in Valinor). Elrond chose to remain among the elves while his brother Elros decided to become mortal. Elros settles on the island of Numenor and reigns as king for over 410 years(If I remember correctly) and lives to the age of 500. Long after Elros has past most of the Numenoreans are corrupted by evil and decide to attack the Valar, not a good idea since it would lead to their destruction and the reshaping of the world. But Elendil and his 2 sons (Isildur & Anárion ) and those loyal to them left before the destruction of Numenor for middle earth and founded the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor. Its been a little while since I read anything about the Dunedain and can't remember how they got their name but I'd guess its what the refugees of Numenor called themselves or has something to do with the destruction of the Northern Kingdom of Arnor. Anyway Aragorn is related to Elendil and his 2 sons who we know come from Numenor and are of half elve heritage and that why he is so old. Aragorn dies aged 210.
