Well, you don't have to have a master, since you can learn lots from Classes. However, some people have problems with this (timezone, etc). If this is the case, having a master would be the alternative. Master's are basically just someone you have got to know well, and who've decided to take you on. So, you basically gotta hang around and get to know people. To clear up any confusion, a master is a good friend you know quite well, not someone you've just begged to take you on. |
