Well me and Bubu go a LOOOOONG way back. I know this somehow disrupts Internet anonymosity, but in order for this tale to unwrap itself like a buttered up tortilla, I have to tell you people me and Bubu's real names. I am know around the world as Freedom Lexicon, and Bubu, my dear friend, is Boundless Stargazer. But since those names are hard to pronounce, especially in secluded regions such as Monaco and Andorra, people usually just call us Free and Bound. We met back in 1975 at the annual "Hey, we still remember Bob Dylan" (HwsrBD)-festivals. I was walking around through the crystal hazes of my mind with my wife Oregano Illuminenta, when next to the "Wanna sound JUST like Janis Joplin who imitates Mick Jagger?"-booth, when I witnessed a vision extraordinaire: sitting on the ground just to the side of the booth, was a truly strange man. He had long dark locks, a beard long enough to create a hammock out of, and he was wearing just two small drapes of cloth, one around his waist (thank god) and one around his forehead. Now what was marvellous about this strange chap, was that at the same time, he was singing in Turkish for a group of hot belly dancers, speaking in English to a college professor, reading poetry in Latin for a monk, speaking Aramea to my good friend Jesus Latino, and cursing a snail in Hebrew. When I saw this multi-talented freak, I knew I had to meet him. I knocked on his shoulder, and he turned to look at me. With his fathomless stare and his dark brooding countenance I was initially quite shocked. I reached a shaking hand, and said "F-f-f-freedom Lexicon, but you can call me Free, dude". He just looked at my hand in contempt. Suddenly he sprang to his feet, pointed at himself and screamed very aboriginally: "BUBULEH". I almost wet my pants as I waited for the curse to kick in. He noticed my frightened look, and pointed at himself again and screamed "I R BUBULEH". By then I understood it was his name. I laughed a nervous laugh and tried to small talk myself out of this uncomfortable situation. "So... Bubuleh... I was just wondering. I'm about to create my own retro-60's hippie band, that plays in the styles of The Monkees, Pink Floyd, The Beatles (early 60's stuff), Elvis (early 70's stuff), Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin and Louis Armstrong. We're short of a pre-mosher for the mosh pit, and with your locks, you'd be drastic, dude." Bubuleh just snorted and screamed "I R BUBULEH!! I R HUGUMAGA". So I assumed he was in (hell what could I know, I was stoned). "Hey dude, that's great, awesome. But we have to think of a better name for you, Bubuleh just sounds so...gay, dude. So how about... yeah. I nounce you Boundless Stargazer, may you inherit the world and it's boundless pleasures, and may the stars guide your gaze away from my WIFE'S BREASTS!! Well, anyway. (If you want her, we have to negotiate)." So we had our little band called "Free and Bound", and we toured a bit around the world during our 5 years in fame. Those were great times, Bound was just such a great touring companion, he barely ever said anything, he just nodded and kept drinking his spiked up punch. In the early 80's we split up, since Bound was complaining that he didn't have enough space in the band, which I was amazed at since I was as free as one could imagine so why wasn't he too? Well, we had our disagreements but we also had our reconciliations. Last year we met up again, in more friendly terms. Bound had found himself a wife, Putridia Obnoxiontia. I thought she was a hag, but if Bound loves her, it's all the same. Today we are spending our pension times sitting in the porch of Bound's hacienda, with our eyes to our mutual past, remembering the great gigs we played in ("We're Almost Cool Festival", "No Refund"-gig in Vegas, "Poetry Night"-at the retirement home). Oh man those were the times. But the main thing is, that I have my greatest friend Boundless Stargazer, AKA Bubuleh, AKA Bubu, to share these memories with. -Cas PS.
