Opening Statement: The foundation to anything that one wants to learn is the most important first step. The purpose of this course is to supply ALL the basic fundamentals to the Staff Saber. Students will have fun and learn in the process! Topics: For each week, a certain topic will be covered in class. It should take roughly 30 mins to teach the topic, and the last 30 mins would be to practice the topic. The four topics would be the following: Week 1: Basic Animation Swings Week 2: Basic Combos Week 3: Preanimated Movements and Specials Week 4: Final Exam Animations Swings will focus on the 8 cardinal directions along with attack being pressed once with a direction, and with attack being held down with a direction. Basic combos will go through the rudimentary(spelling) set of combos a staffer can use. Preanimated Movements works with the animations predefined for the Staffer and the combination of directions to execute them. The Specials are the keys pressed in conjunction with one another to execute the Specials. Final Exam puts weeks 1 - 3 together and will allow me to give feedback. Extra Info: Punctuality is a must in order for everyone to get the most out of this class. Showing up for all 4 sessions, to cover all the topics, is a plus as well. At the end of each class, I will write a follow-up after class to post what was gone over for that day's class. Students will be advised to look over the Staff Holocron section as a source of FAQ. I will also post who attended the class afterwards to allow for others to see who was present to practice with during off-time. Final note: I'm looking for JA Members to attend who are seriously eager in learning the Staff Saber Style. For those familiar with my class back when I taught this as a JAK will know WHAT I dedicate the last 5 minutes to. We're going to learn, and we're going to have fun, period. Well my friends, we concluded Week 1 with a bang! What a turnout we had! Class Attendance: Malak Revler Casual Blackshadow Cruelty Verox Roan It was good to see so many new faces wanting to learn staff, I look forward to the new batches of staffers to get through these 4 weeks. Enough of the emotional sob stuff, here's what we did! Half Animations, the art of pressing a direction once and clicking attack. It's one swing and we went over the uses of them. Full Animations, the art of pressing but not letting go of the direction and attack. Fillers come in between the swings and we went over where these would be useful. We reviewed and I let their ears bleed by shouting out the directions and the class would do Half and Full Animations to the barking out of the instructions. The Pop Quiz at the end had everyone fight each other using only Half and Full Animations. Everyone did extremely well!
