Hi guys, It's no secret that drivers are a pretty important when it comes to your cards performance. ATI Catalyst drivers have always been coded towards DirectX games contrary to OpenGL. OpenGL is the engine behind Jedi Academy, and Knights of the old Republic. Their recent 4.8 release shows a few improvements, but the new 4.9 beta version is absolutely awesome on my PC! Beta drivers aren't stable, and if you share your computer with others and don't have any technical experience, don't install them. There's a huge disclaimer on the ATI Site if you try and download the 4.9 Beta drivers, but I did it anyway and I can report an awesome performance increase on my low-end card (9200SE). So to the guys who don't fear betas, try your luck, and to the rest: 4.9 final is released soon, my advice to you is to install it. Way to go ATI! -Ken |
