ok when i put in the password, and press ok it goes to the screen awaiting connection and below it it says server is for low ping only and it won't let me join so i have to exit the game what is wrong did you jaks do something to the server lol, and the weird thing is that sometimes i can get on and sometimes i can't wtf is up hehe anyhelp would be great take care thx Kessler  Edit: i'm sorry i haven't been keeping you posted, ok hears the download lol, so far it has been working fine i have no problems i have been getting on the servers, but sometimes now and then it will still not let me on. i took the advice of obi whiched worked, so for now i think i am doing ok. just some extra imformation i am using a macintosh if anyone else uses a mac and if they have ts or one of thos talk programs and have gotten it to work i would appriciate the help hehe, i have dsl pretty fast um,as far as i know i try not to run anyother programs while i am playing but sometimes i will run msn messager so i can chat and play hehe, so yeah i think for now i am ok, and i know now to keep you guys posted on what's up when i ask for help i'm sorry i didn't, but thank you all for helping me and once again i am very sorry for that stupid post i made, thank you take care all Kessler _______________ May The Force Be With You This post was edited by Kessler on Sep 17 2004 03:29pm. |

Cool! had another thought, sometimes a virus scan running in the background can affect your ping, so on the odd occasion that it happens again check that. Righto now it's your turn to post here Kessler, cover the following: 1) is the problem still occuring, 2) what is your ping when you can't connect & when you can 3) what steps have you taken to try to eliminate the problem 4) what connection do you have and what speed does it run at? 5) what other software is running at the time you can't connect. eliminating spyware can help your ping as if you get rid of something using your bw it wont use it. another thing might be your firewall or a lack there of. check your settings (firewall) or get a firewall to keep others from using your bw. hope this helps. ps. if there are other computers in the house on the internet you split bw with them if they are online and dling or browsing so check that if it applies. Server for low pings means the following. It means we have a maximum ping allowance on the server. If your connection causes you to have a higher ping, you can't connect to the server. What I do when I get that is open the console on the screen where it says "server is for low pings only" and keep on typing /recon in the console until it connects me without problems. Your ping fluxuates and is never the same, therefore it can be high at a certain time (when your downloading something, or someone else is downloading something when your sharing a connection) so it can be too high sometimes which makes you unable to connect to our server. Just try that trick of mine and be patient. Sometimes its your ISP that updates something that causes your Connection to be a bit unstable, just give it a day to see if you still have the problem then  _______________ ~ Honor is a fool's prize. i don't know if this will help or not but when i get the low ping screen: 1) i press ESC 2) go to the join game screen and click refresh or get new list 3) and try to rejoin again. |

Hey man, try restarting your internet. It could just be a lag zone or something, so try restarting your cable or whatever you have and try it again.
