I just found out something incredibly horrible today, which nearly made me sick to my stomach. You see, my mom's company has this maid that comes in and cleans our apartment every 2 weeks, for the past 2 months. She is a really cool person, speaks her mind, isn't afraid to try things she has never done. Unfortunately, she has burn scares covering almost half of her body. I never decided to ask her what happened, for I thought it would be etremely rude. But after talking with her for about 2 hours everytime she came, today she decided that it was about time for me to know. So she picked up a pen and paper, wrote down her name, and told me to look it up. She was very nice about it, and asked me not to be freaked out, but I was. This is what came up: Lori Romaneck. I totaly teared up when I read this. I can't imagine that someone as great as her had to go through something that horrible. There was a movie on Lifetime not too long ago about this woman's story. I remember it because in the movie, they had to dig up the whole yard before they tried under the cement. Wild stuff. You know you always read about stuff like this, but it really takes you to know someone who goes through it before it affects you. The scary thing is that there are family's mothers and fathers that are like this that don't care about anything, but abuse and hate. As a Parent it hits your heart like a pound of bricks and really makes you stop and realize the wonderful gifts you've been given. As a child with loving parents it makes you look at your parents with admiration, because even though you might have had it hard your parents loved you enough to take care of you. Unfortunatly some people don't have that luxury that alot of us take for granted. I think this story says alot about courage and faith I only hope and pray people take this to heart. "Tho sometimes we walk though the darkness, if we look hard enough we can always find the light" _______________ Everyone has their purpose in life, seek it. Thats very disturbing to read. Incredible that she turned out as the nice person you know man. Thats a strong soul right there. Man...The things people are able to do to each other always amazes me. Just the thought of it makes you sick. Anyways, im happy to hear that she is getting along well now. Well, no, you shouldn't feel too sorry really. I don't, I feel happy for her that she's dealt with it as well as she has. She seems to be a completely normal person and acts as if this has never happened. You guys don't have to feel sorry to hear it. She's not anyone in my family, more of a friend if anything. But I just think it's a completely F'ed up thing to go through. I mean, as far as I can tell she is just about over it, which I find incredibly odd.
