I only seem to log here once every couple of years but I will never forget this place.
The people here at the time were so incredibly welcoming and helpful, even when I was being a nuisance for which I paid by receiving multiple bans. I remember it was never anything serious, plus the older, wiser members seemed to deal with me as one would with any unruly child. I was always welcomed back with no grudges and the punishment felt like a timeout more than anything. Why am I rambling about disciplinary actions taken against me? Well, for me this place and the people here represented a code of conduct, a type of focused discipline, a level of maturity unrivaled anywhere else in my life both on- and offline. As sad as it sounds I needed a place like this in my life. A place where I respected how others carried themselves but at the same time they weren't my parents and I had to figure me out on my own. Despite - or perhaps because of - the discipline this community practiced, we managed to have tons of fun and enjoy so much more than just the games that brought us here. This place was a level playing field and it encouraged a lot of creative projects by its members, for its members. The sum total content that's been produced here - the holocron project, events, articles, radio shows, maps&mods&skins just to name a few - is an astonishing accomplishment everyone should feel very proud of. I'm now 31 but to be honest, 2003 doesn't seem that long ago. I suppose the countless memories this place holds will make sure it never will.
