 If anyone here has awesome map making skilz, (can actually make doors and other obvious nessescitys) I would like to ask of you to make me a map that is similar to Jedi Home, but has an outdoors as well. I know this is a big map, thats why i need a good mapper, so that it is good... Thanks... i'm sorry. it was my intention to accuse anyone of plageriasm but I would like to say the following: JumpinJedi, you've got a point, no doubt. I happen to know the map, just forgot the name. I know it's based on jediCouncilCG, but I don't doubt that he has permission to make it, since they are similar. I just want to prevent that we have a situation like: "You stole my map!" again, sorry for accusing you of plagiarism _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! I mean, you don't hear people saying GOMGOM VIRTUE IS A PLAGERAST FOR PUTTIN A BAR IN TEH JA MAP!11 Like I said, if you don't have anything nice, constructive, or helpful to say, makes your lips hug. Edit2: Sorry if I came over as a complete wise-ass again... but is there anything wrong with what I said? I just warned him not to (ask to make) make a copy of someone else's hard work... That's all I meant. I wasn't even being sarcastic in my post ... I'm sorry but I really don't understand what's wrong with that post? oh come on! I didn't even say anything bad in there Edit: Could you please enlighten me with what exactly I did wrong? Yes, I agree ozzcozz, if you would just recreate it.... Problem is that if the original author notices, you may get something like: "YOU RIPPED OFF MY MAP BECAUSE THAT AND THAT AND THAT IS THE SAME" I'm just trying to avoid this but feel free to disregard anything I say... _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! Um, first of all we have an Editing Forum, please use it. Next, Bail if someone just straight out decompiled another persons map to create a new version of it, that new map will (a) probably suck  (b) yes be plagiarism IMO. On the other hand if you simply used the first map as inspiration and recreate it from scratch *hopefully* adding your own ideas and giving it a new style and feel, then that may turn out to be a good map, and I personally don't count doing it this way as plagiarism.If you really want an exact copy of that map, with some added extensions, ask the original author if they would like to give you their source .map files (only do it once, if they say no or ignore you, then you have your answer). While your map will still be completely unoriginal you will (a) have their permission, therefore not plagiarism, (b) not have a poor decompiled copy where all the texturing and entities are screwed up. The author themselves may have wanted to make a new version of their map, in which case they may (or may not  ) use your ideas.I could go on, but I think that is enough of a rant for today. _______________ A wizard did it. It's called Jedi's Home (JL), and it's a huge map that was textured very well in my opinion.
