Mouse stops working while playing JA MP

Like the title says, my mouse suddenly stopped while being in the midst of a duel on the Academy server.

I had to reboot to make it work again, not even exiting to windows solved it.

I had the Quake III Engine minimizer open, dunno if that caused the problem...

Anyone else experienced this?

Well, good thing is that you know the problem. :)

Update: After closer examination and multiple tests, my mouse appears to be half-broken - and I will need to buy a replacement. :D

Try the ingame one, you'll love it :)

I already tried it, and didn't really like it much... but maybe it's just a question of getting used to it.

I played some SP today (decided to finish the game on the dark side as well) while using the minimizer, and it happened again.

So I'll blame the evil minimizer and just refrain from playing full screen from now on.:)

Heh. I actually had alt bound to alternative attack untill recently, and it did cause a few surprise (both surprising for me and the defender) attacks...:D

Yes, I had it bound for a while. It's amazing how long it took me to figure out when I accidently replaced the reloaded folder! :D

A way around minimizer:

Go to Video Options ingame, and set "fullscreen" to off. Then, click apply and let it reload. Now you can use alt+tab to switch back and forth between programs/folders. :)

Thx, will try that out.

Yes, that works

Also... make sure you never bind Attack to Alt... since you'd be accused of laming pretty fast...

eh Bail?:P

Actually, there are lots of sockets. :P

Anyway, I was saying that the wire may not be plugged in very well. Ie. Not pushed right into the socket, only half of the way.

I've played the game since it came out. My mouse never once stopped during the time I have played. Could be the minimizer, could be that it's not plugged in right, the computer's specs, and as Gradius said, it could be the drivers... :D

I don't know about your mouse but there isn't much chance that he has plugged it in wrong, last time I checked there was one wire and one socket. :P

I think it must have been the minimizer... haven't used it since, and haven't had more problems...

I'll try to duplicate the problem one of these days.

A random cheap mouse can still be fixed by updating drivers. Or maybe the problem is it's a random cheap mouse. :D

Try updating your mouse driver. It will cause it to reinstall basically, that should fix it. Or, next time it happens, just try unplugging your mouse from the computer, and plugging it back in. Ask the person you are dueling to wait for a second, they will. :)
